  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

edit: edited well but nothing really special or different like I was expecting. It looked good, but I assume the crowd turned around because of the credits? I still like it, prolly keep it for a little while or somethin'.
Otakon doesn't allow end credits in the contest - what you saw/heard at the end is only included in distro versions of the video. I think by the way the crowd turned around, they were expecting something like "What the hell is a DBZ video doing in the action category at Otakon?" I heard uneasy murmurs of "oh no" and "aww man" and such when the title card came up and they saw DBZ as the source. However, when that video ended, I got some enthusiastic applause and cheering from the crowd. I think I did a fine job turning around people's initial perceptions on what the video was going to look like.

Again, it may be "nothing special" considering that I did sort-of retell the Saiyan Saga story almost as it unfolded. However, I just set myself out to make a good DBZ video that anyone can follow (such that no prior knowledge of the series is necessary to enjoy the video). I think it was refreshing to see an "old school" show like DBZ make the finals at Otakon in the action category. I had fun making the video, and I was ecstatic upon seeing it on the big screen at Otakon. Who cares if I came in third in the popular vote; I've already won.

So that's what you meant, ok. And i'm not saying this is bad, oh no. It's edited very well, just I've seen it before is all I was saying. it's still very good for an action vid.

It's nice to have someone other than VegettoEX, Meri, or I make a good dbz video. :)

I barely ever keep up with the new anime trends nowadays, but seeing a single source dbz video that's not part of a parody or a multi-anime video in an actual amv contest is a rarity nowadays.

Sort of like Kellogg's Corn Flakes: "Taste them again for the first time." It tastes all too familiar, and yet you haven't had them in a long time, so it tastes good. :)

Meh. It was well edited. It's just basically the same video that I've seen 14 gazillion times with virtually the same concept. It used a unique style of editing, at least for DBZ videos.

This is probably the first DBZ video I ever thought should actually win in a contest ;p

good job, honestly it was the most interesting of the videos in the action category (IE held my interest up for the longest without having to force myself to) and I'm not even really that big of a DBZ fan.
