Ok, first off let me qualify following statements by stating this: The concept was fecking awesome.

I love the fact that you followed such a concept through. I could really feel the "love" from the video, and I felt that you really did have a special connection with the video. I was in awe at the mood sync, and I really did enjoy it. For a while.

I couldn't, however, get over the anime selection. I found that any of the 5CM, PPIOED or VOADS footage was just kind of a bad choice. There are gajillion+ videos using these footage with similar conceptuality/song choice.

HAd it been just Haibane and FLCL (And the others) it would have been utterly amazing. Such an original concept would have been amazing with some original anime. This is purely judgement on my part, since I actually enjoyed the editing and concept. :O

This is some really good work Crack. You should be really proud of yourself. What I'm more surprised at is the fact that you made this, juggle college, coordinate Improv and Gateway and still made such a nice work. NIce work, and I highly reccomend.

The mood of this, together with the concept makes this very pleasing for me. It doesn't have a lot of immediate review ability because of the length, but I can definitely see myself watching this again later down the road.

you make awesome stuff dude

Preeeeeeeeeecisely.

Used nice scenary, flowed well and was really relaxing. (especially loved the scene choice at 1:43, that was genius^^)
Thanks! You and Arashinome both really seem to like that scene, don't know why o_O
Pwolf wrote:Did you send this anywhere else? i feel like i've seen it before :x Oh wait... i saw it at the general amv showing >.> doh!!

anyway, good job!
I thought about sitting around the general AMV showing so I could see this, but I didn't feel like it. Too much other stuff I'd have had to sit through. Thanks for the comments ^_^
ArashinomeAMV wrote:the 2nd verse was indeed the best part of the vid though, loved it <3

5/5, my gud sir. I shall be opping this later ^_^
Thank you, and for beta-testing. Much appreciated!
Funky-kun wrote:Edit: Liked the flow, the sync, and the song, but I think I just didn't get into it as much as you would want the viewer to. It all depends on the setup and personal emotions I guess.

Yeah, most of the reason I personally like this video so much is because a lot of it means something to me...still glad you were able to enjoy it!
Ingow wrote:this reeks of the emotions of a 16yo boy going through puberty

way too generic for me, lots of scenes from the different animes that could be considered the representative keyscenes or most used ones so scene-selection seems pretty much non existant.

sorry man I love you and all, but wtf is this sappy stuff doing in my crackthesky release? :<
A lot of my stuff is sappy. And 16 year-olds are typically more pissed-off and angsty than this :P As for the scene selection...well, about half of the anime in this video I haven't even seen, so I could only really go on scenes I'd seen in other AMVs. Your reaction is understandable though, and I expect this from many people. Thanks for the feedback, and for watching!

Thanks a bunch! I'm glad you liked it. I have to disagree about what you say about the Shinkai footage though, since I *love* Shinkai and I think it fits in perfectly.

no wai? :P

It was really cool. The sources were quite varying but you kept them all together with that extraordinary mood sync and internal sync  It had some really cool moments and a general up-lifting feel to it. Oh, and this is exactly how a video's title can be really important to the video itself. Without the intro (with the texts) this video would have had a way smaller effect on me. You can pull me into the video as simply as that :D

My complaints would be technical this time. While you did some really cool fading here, the clips just started clocking in for too long. I think it might have been better if you tightened the pacing during the faster parts of the song. Some clips with more "action" would have worked nicely as well. Also, I was hoping for more of those beat sync tricks you did in the beginning of the video (0:27-0:39)

Considering that on paper this couldn't possibly appeal to me less (multiple cartoons with totally different art styles, drippy music, mawkish sentiment and some kind of antiquated AR that looks like it was designed for one of those 'ye olde times' square monitors), I have to say that...

No.

No, this couldn't possibly appeal to me less.

But...

Damn, I'm still going to have to watch it a few times to try and pick up some editing mojo.

Curse you! Have some consideration for others!
