112 - total number of votes were made
Ridiculous. Does this represent anything? (I also wonder about the VCA numbers)
This was a first year contest, run only by me - it was a trial run. How much participation did you really think a person like me could actually garner? I didn't have any kind of budget to promote this, just anybody I knew (and lots of people I didn't know) that I just messaged and tried to spread by word of mouth as fast as possible. Granted, I only had less than a couple weeks to get it going - but it was a a start. This idea was all concieved and promoted within a month or two from when it actually started. I was actually expecting less than half the participation that I did, so I'm happy with what I got. So, now that I have a whole year till the next one, I have more time to branch out into 'other' communities - though I do not believe that starting in the 'largest' of the communities was a bad place to be.

4 countries? And how many communities?
Next time the organizers should put more effort in making JCA a contest in which the whole amv-world takes part, not only some part of those who hang out on the org's forum."Private message me if you want to vote"? Even technically it does not look like a reputable contest claiming to be the same level as VCA. Please, make it work just like VCA next time, approved by the org and through the site.
having judges from different countries doesn't mean it's going to be better or more fair
The results would be easier to accept.
Like I said, I was the only one organizing this whole thing, and in a relatively short amount of time. As for it wanting to be seen as an 'official' counter part to the VCA's - I definitely made that proposition (

So, this is the first of its kind - I couldn't really expect the org to take on this as an official contest without first testing the waters. I was monumentally happy just to get them to post the contest on the front page to help with the participation. But definitely, for upcoming years - I (hopefully others will help) will try to get a larger amount of participation and iron out the kinks in the contest.
Hi.
