As opposed to almost everyone here, I didn't like the zooms that much. Somehow, I prefered the softer transitions I usually see in your videos (maybe I'm just used to them). Though the video, as a whole, was pretty good and enjoyable, the concept was well executed and I liked the variations of moods between different parts of the video.

First, to everyone complaining about quality: I have no excuse, other than my copies of Evangelion (both the series and End of Eva) are bootlegs and yeah, the quality of the DVDs is absolutely awful. There wasn't much I could do to clean it up, and I apologize for that.
Second, about the zooms: Heh, well, I personally really like them and had fun putting them together, they're some of my favorite parts of the video to be honest. Sorry if you don't concur

Regarding the ending...I dunno, it just felt right. I can't really think of a more fitting ending to be honest, because that's exactly how the movie ends and it's a great summary of their relationship.
Thanks for watching!
The song is SUPPOSED to simplify the series, if I were to really delve into the symbolism and meaning behind everything regarding Asuka and Shinji's relationship, this video would be at least ten minutes long, would be ridiculously confusing, and would have a very different feeling to it. In short, it would be a completely different video and that's not what I wanted
In my opinion at least, the song does a nice job of summing up Shinji and Asuka's relationship in about four minutes and that's all it's meant to do in the context of this video.
Don't mean to come off as overly defensive, but I kinda think you're missing the point of the video

Thank you everyone! Sorry to do a huge mass reply thing, but I don't feel like saying "Thank you" a million times so I'll just do it all at once. Anyway, glad you enjoyed it!emodude wrote:very nice =D
I assume you're being sarcastic Ying, because if not....inthesto wrote:Good job ripping off this video, you god damn fraud.

Okay, done.

Yeah, that's one way to look at the out-of-place fighting. Also, what the hell else am I supposed to put at the heavier parts of the song in an Eva video?melee wrote:edit: I'll try and assume the the "out of place" fighting is what makes Asuka happy?
I really liked it, except the end. Why you chose to end it on that note I'll never know.

I assume you can understand the lyrics then, because yeah, the song is pretty cheesy/weird at certain pointsYarry wrote:Nice timing and switching when switching the clips. The music/consept was a bit cheesy though, but I guess that's a matter of taste more than wrong/right.

roflPaperIsland wrote:I was a bit disappointed. It seemed pretty average to me. The video doesn't add much to the song and the song simplifies the series. There have been so many excellent Eva videos that it has a pretty tough standard to compare to. I enjoyed the last video I watched of yours more (Subsonic).

Agreed, pretty much. I guess it depends on what you define as "around the end"; if you're referring to the part where Shinji starts choking Asuka, yeah, I can see what you mean.Minion wrote:really dug a few parts of it.
the video started falling apart around the end
Thanks! Sorry you didn't like the action-y parts (some of them were admittedly random), but thanks for checking it out.OropherZero wrote:not bad, I preferred the first half because the vid kinda lost me when the action started, but yeah one of the better NGE AMVs I've seen, song was nice too. The zooms were a nice way to synch those beats. 3.5/5
I can see what you mean when you say you prefer the "softer" transitions, because this was definitely an experiment for me in terms of refining my own editing style. I tried to use more hard cuts and more cuts in general, and the editing was something new for me. you almost lost me there Sky... . I really can't believe you wrote something so rude even if it may be true :/. Just saying that the idea was inspired by that video was enought, you didn't had to say that practically his/her video "sucked" (even if t may be true). Just ask yourself if you would want someone to say that about your vid in the vid description of a better version of your idea without much credit than reading that :/. I at least would be pissed off badly. Now if you got his permission or something to say that then ignore thisThis video is a kind of "remake" of Miracle_Falcon's video Whatever Makes Asuka Happy, a video that I thought had a great concept but was very poorly edited and left me unsatisfied. This is a video I made because it was something I *really* wanted to see done well.

To the video: I hate NGE, I can't stand watching AMVs with it, except comedy. So I was really praying, knowing you, that this vid was gonna be something different. I'm glad it was, nice way to show their relationship in a simple way. I actually liked your zooms, but in the first round of zooms you kinda stopped when there was still more of the same beats you were using to make the zooms, but nothing biggy really. The song was very catchy for me, so thats a plus

3.5/5, even though I enjoyed it, I can't keep it just for the anime, I really hate it, so this probably will not be open again, sorry

Obviously I need more bolded punctuation to make my point.CrackTheSky wrote: I assume you're being sarcastic Ying, because if not....:|

Okay, I didn't really feel like going through the character map to find punctuation, so I threw in some Greek letters and logical operators in there, though I doubt they'll show up in the post. I think I've made my intent clear, though.
