Holy crap, what was I drinking?

Post by blabbler » Mon Dec 03, 2007 6:21 pm

You begged me, you squealed like stuck pigs. You whined, you cajoled, you just wouldn't leave me alone. So, here it is, without further ado, my second, and arguably second-best AMV.

There are (sort of) spoilers, so if you're currently half way through paranoia agent, I wouldn't recommend watching this. Anyone else should be fair game though. Oh - unless you've got an eye for quality, detail, editing flair, etc. People fulfilling these criteria should stay well clear.

What the critics are saying:

"I soiled myself. 7 out of 5, posing pouch ftw!" - CrackTheSky
"It's like, woah... a posing pouch" - CodeChrono
"Awesome posing pouch..." - Douggie

Cheers,
Blabbler

You all know you're only into anime for the posing pouches.

If this is some kind of tactic to get me to download your AMV, I must start using it too.

o_o

That was actually pretty damn cool.

Though I attribute a lot of it to the song, which I really liked.

Keep it up! :o

Hmm.

The concept in here is excellent, the song choice is perfect, the editing is...really, really bad. The first half of the video was the worst part, the video just didn't flow with the music at all, the cuts were random and there were too many hard cuts. When the song started to pick up the editing kinda got back on track, but then you had all that negative space starting at 0:50 and it's impossible to tell what's going on until about 1:03. Don't be afraid to adjust the brightness/contrast of a scene, if it helps you see a dark scene better, then do it. From then to the end the video was excellent, the feeling was perfect.

You REALLY need to learn how to use crossfades properly. Were there even any in here? It seemed like it was all hard cuts and fades to black. The video had pretty much no visual rhythm until the last 30ish seconds.

Honestly, the video was incredibly, incredibly frustrating to watch because I LOVED the concept, and I LOVED the second half, but the editing up to then just stunk and I KNOW you could have done better. Ultimately I was very unsatisfied with this one.

I'll give it 3/5, but you can do so much better, especially because I really enjoyed your first video. Learn how to get your video to flow with the song.

Why the sudden change of heart? :P

EDIT: Amv was alright, not really my tastes in terms of music, but you caught the mood really well. 3/5 from me.

I loved your editing in here. It showed great poise, and I think if you keep it up, we'll be seeing good stuff from you. Great job!
