the audio edit at 3:00? thought i did a good job with that one... hmm...Autraya wrote:ok I didn't like the audio cut where you repeated the chorus, It wasn't smooth enough and I could tell it was there.
Editing was super smooth as always, some of the lyric sync was a bit to literal for my tastes but you only did that once or twice so it's all good. there was a scene with the chick running that felt out of place although she was synced to the beats the rest of the section was slow scene changes so one or the other? but both felt out of place.
On scene selection, the rain looks good and the darker scenes. For some reason I have trouble taking the little chick seriously... she's just to 'cutesy' to carry emotion properly by herself, when the animators place her in a scene it's usually the scene doing the work not her :\
Music X anime good choice (all 'she the ultimate weapon videos seem to be depressing >.<) stole viney's song ;p
your source looks a little cloudy, was that intentional to soften it for the song?
I think tho OLD SCHOOL KICKS ASS!!
ahem I mean it's a 'simple' video in terms of it's not over the top effects even the grain/noise was subtle and I'm definitely keeping this.
as for lyric sync, i know what you mean. With the chorus, i the only thing that made me want to keep what i chose was that when i listen to "be running up that road, be running up that hill, be running up that building" i pictured a time when everything was good, "with no problems". So if that meant actually showing some running, then it works for me.
she's just to 'cutesy' to carry emotion properly by herself
yea, i agree... it made it a little difficult.
the source was cloudy and i didn't want to spend the time to clean it up. plus, i did feel that it add a little to what i wanted so, win. I dont like cleaning my footage unless i absolutely have to.
Thanks for watching it and the QC. i think you are pretty much right about it. Which is probably why my other two videos aren't going anywhere, they arn't depressing

i didn't add any rain sounds fx >.> thanks for watching.OropherZero wrote:ooh im curious about your intepretation of this song *gets*
ooo good stuff, also liked how you added in the rain sound fx 4/5 =D
also I learnt a lot from watching your video, especially with mood synch as opposed to beat synch, things like that so cheers mate
I didn't like that part >.> well, at least for this video.shinodude wrote:you edited my favorite part out of the song =/
other then that
good stuff
Yea, i wanted to just focus on them and not the war/destruction scenes or other character. I felt that i didn't need to add any of those tho get the point that their relationship wasn't normal. Thanks for watching.dj_ultima_the_great wrote:Placebo... and Saikano... *twitch* ...must get...

EDIT: okay, so I'm getting back to you NOW. Can't help it. Anything Saikano-related seems to suck me in like a vortex. o_O
I'm not familiar with that Placebo song, but it's interesting and I like it. I'm not sure what to say about the video... I really did enjoy it a lot. On one hand, it feels like the same old, same old angsty Saikano romance video, but at the same time... it's not.
I think what I really like about this is that it's much less of the flash and destruction scenes that I associate with most Saikano videos. Rather, it's the little interactions between the two that are being shown - the kind of togetherness that those two are fighting for throughout the series, with a heavy dosing of the crushing failures that they endure along the way. Something like that.
I dunno. Maybe I'm overanalyzing. In any case, you did a good job on this. Hooray for the waffle.>
Thanks.Fizziks wrote:Nice video! The mood sync was really well done!
song edit at 3:00? I'll add more comments related to yours in my reply to Emong. Thanks for watching.Willen wrote:I had a couple of minor issues with this video. The somewhat awkward song edit is one of them. The other issue is related since unlike the Kate Bush original version, the Placebo rendition doesn't "climax" as much toward the end (yeah, the original doesn't have much of a climax either). What is there though, got edited out.It broke the video's flow for me a bit.
Still, I like the editing, the mood, and the pacing. 4/5
For willen and your comments regaurding the short cut/no climax:Emong wrote:That was an enjoyable watch
Imo, that was great use of fades. The technical flow was reeeally smooth and very appropriate for the melancholic mood of this video. I haven't seen this anime, but I've seen a few videos done to it, and judging by that I can say this had a strong original flavour
I tend to agree with Willen though. This video didn't seem to have an ending at all. It just sopped like a train hitting a wall. And I couldn't really see much progression in the clip selection overall either but it wasn't a huge problem this time because the mood sync / fade combo was really good.
Being a fan of Placebo, I enjoyed this song too, even though I couldn't say it's one of their better ones. A new album, anyone?
4/5
I know exactly what you mean. But there isn't an ending. i didn't want one. Listening to the Placebo version of the song, it feels like its an on going, never ending struggle. So, no ending.
I agree, i don't like it as much as my other videos. As for scenes matching the music. i guess it depends on how you interpret the song. case by case basis and we all have our own opinions. Thanks for watching.Falconone wrote:It was not bad but not so good as your other videos. For me the scenes fits not so good to the music, i dont know why.... 4/5
Thanks for watching everyone.

Thanks. Glad you like it.CrackTheSky wrote:This video is just awesome. Very emotional scene selection (coming from someone who hasn't seen SaiKano, too), excellent use of simple effects like the grain filter...overall just a very solid video. This one's definitely a keeper, I love it
5/5
Thank you.tyromaniac wrote:This song is very emotional.....in a spooky lurid sentimental way.
The movement from scene to scene did nothing but amplify the overall effect of the video's meaning. Well done. This is a love horror that will be playing on loop for a while.
