Fanservice does not only apply to boobs and panty shots. Essentially fanservice is anything you put into something that pleases a fan. So essentially, putting Sepheroth in a video for no reason other then to make the fan girls go squee, is fanservice while also not falling under the category you are referring to. Want to see some fanservice videos check out my Dance series. Total fanservice, very little boobs (well, if I'm going to make a fanservice video, need to hit all the targets eh?)

Wow... okay, so you just touched on a topic that had suddenly bugged me today. I watched a new Haruhi Suzumiya video today, and while I liked it, I noticed that it had the same shot that every other Haruhi video on the face of the planet has - the close-ups of the thigh and breast of Haruhi's bunny girl costume. The scene itself doesn't bother me... what bothers me is that everyone uses it, whether or not it matches the lyrics or has any place in the video at all.
But that begins touching on a subject broader than just fanservice. To keep with the example of Haruhi, I also see many videos use the concert and the credits dance sequence for no reason at all. The overall point is that it's annoying to see people use certain pointless scenes in an otherwise coherent video just because they're pretty, attract attention, or the creator just likes those scenes.
Again, though, that's a concept that can be applied to AMVs as a whole, and since this is beginning to deviate from the topic, I'll leave it at that.

Hmm, I think what you're forgetting is that those "real" women you see in Hollywood are nothing but fabricated characters themselves, much like anime. You really think that they are that perfect? I highly doubt it.LeeKitten wrote:I think part of what shapes my opinion is the fact that nothing is better than the real thing. Anime is just fake drawn women, and if I really want to look at large fake tits I'll become a breast agumentation doctor.
I don't think there's much wrong with admiring a drawing. Well, it's not any worse than admiring some hollywood actress/actor IMO.

A little adds some fun, too much spoils it.
Pray 4 peace! Not an AMV, something you can do to help!
