Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Then why the hell did you post it here?
I'm getting a little tired of having to point this out, but...

I personally believe that goal has been outdated by youtube and the gradual decline of the initial AMV hype.

As for the video, I have a question. Where were the cool female characters? Can't leave them out from a list like this. I would also emphasize code_chrono's advice.

I wouldn't class this as a "music video". It looked to me like someone's opinion spoke over anime clips to bits of music that weren't really going anywhere anyway. Surely a music video is a video that uses anime and music as primary aspects, not as secondary ones? The only actual music I actually remember from it was 'hit me baby one more time' and that's because it was played at least 3 times in the video!

To be honest it seemed more like an "educational video" than a "music video", if you can even class it as that. I watched it and was surprised I didn't fall asleep. :?

I'm afraid I have to agree with the rest here. Hell, my -first- AMV took me about 24 hours, and I put in far more effort to it than you did with something you took 3 weeks on.

And my first? SUCKED!

Not sure if it sucked more than yours did... I think they run neck-and-neck there. But the thing is... a little effort makes a big difference. Even if you're posting it to the Toob.

If I, a complete n00b (still am), can put out more effort without knowing a single damned thing of what I'm doing, and produce an (unarguably crappy) AMV in 24 hours total, surely YOU can put out a semi-decent quality AMV in 3 weeks.

Well your's is a music video with one anime and one piece of music. Mine has 10+ anime and 10+ music. Not only that my mine needed specific scenes, which made them harder to find. I am sorry if i did not meet up to your 'standards' of quality.

Back when I made AMV's this place wasn't as elitist as it is now, sad.

Not to be rude, but we're not elitist, your video just sucked, and you fail to interprete that your video needed work. And normally, when a video sucks (far be it from me, my videos sucked when I first started too), we give critisim and tell you ways to fix the video. If you don't want to fix the video, then fine, just be prepared to get critism.

Oh, and I do agree with Scintilla. I think it's fine to have the video in the database. I was simply pointing out that videos MADE for youtube should be sent to youtube. I have no trouble with it being in the database, or even having a local available. I think it's great that this site is making a database with all of the videos ever made, for future AMV makers to enjoy. Sorry if that was confusing. I think I just confused myself, to tell you the truth. :?:
