I submitted this for ACen, but due to a massive overflow of videos made of win and pwnage, mine was rejected from the competition roster. No hard feelings, of course. The contest was awesome, after all. Anyway, the point is that I actually finished this quite some time ago, but didn't want to release it before ACen - neither did I want to release it directly after ACen. I figured my birthday was a decent happy medium. So here it is.
Typical VG drama video from me, but I really fell in love with this song, and particularly with how well it works for the games. I'll add to the video description later explaining what I was getting at with the title and whatnot.
About the editing... please do note that most of the effects in the video were not done by me. They are already in the footage to begin with. I doubt you'll notice most of what I did, because I made my effects to look like the ones in the games anyhow. Take a look here to see what I'm talking about - those are all "effects" from the game. Even most of the white flashes come from the footage, not me. Also, if you'll note the bottom right picture, that is lossless footage, so kindly forgive the less-than-stellar video quality. I did my best with it. Too much putzing around and I'd have killed details and oversmoothed the intentional graininess in many of the scenes.
As for technical stuff... it's an .mp4 on Direct for now. I was having some odd issues with A/V sync, but it seems okay now. I'm gonna wait a week or two for potential complaints regarding that, and then pop it up on Local if nothing comes of it.
