Title: I Am Here
Song: Spice Girls - Viva Forever
Anime: Voices of a Distant Star (Hoshi No Koe)
Comments: Voices of a Distant Star is quite possibly one of the most emotionally striking films every created. Period. It tells a bitter sweet tale that is perfect through it's literal representaion of love, war, and time that tears apart lovers, but then, it gives a optimistic message in the end, that at the same time, makes it all the more sad.
I don't really think I can discribe this video with words...I think it pretty much speaks for itself. The entire song flows with the entire video, and the lyrics as a whole fit the video as a whole....I'm not sure how else I can put it, but the lyrics will descibe the video perfectly for you...
Lyrics:
Do you still remember
How we used to be
Feeling together, believe in whatever
My love has said to me
Both of us were dreamers
Young love in the sun
Felt like my saviour, my spirit I gave ya
We'd only just begun
Hasta Manana,
Always be mine
Viva forever, I'll be waiting
Everlasting, like the sun
Live forever,
For the moment
Ever searching for the one
Yes I still remember,
Every whispered word
The touch of your skin, giving life from within
Like a love song that I'd heard
Slipping through our fingers,
Like the sands of time
Promises made, every memory saved
Has reflections in my mind
Hasta Manana,
Always be mine
Viva forever, I'll be waiting
Everlasting, like the sun
Live forever,
For the moment
Ever searching for the one
Back we're I belong now,
Was it just a dream
Feelings unfold, they will never be sold
And the secret's safe with me
Hasta Manana,
Always be mine
Viva forever, I'll be waiting
Everlasting, like the sun
Live forever,
For the moment
Ever searching for the one
Viva forever, I'll be waiting
Everlasting, like the sun
Live forever,
For the moment
Ever searching for the one.
Technical Crap:
Well, this video is by far less complex on the editing than my last, but anyone who's seen Voices of a Distant Star is aware that you can't do too much to it without covering it's true natural beauty (plus this video wasn't as dependent on effects to show the meaning while my last one was the complete opposite). The video however, was a bitch to work with. The interlacing is hell to get rid of, and while the video originallt runs off the DVD at 29.97 frames per second, the actual animation itself is only about 15 frames a second, which screws the entire thing up if you adjust the speed of it too much...arg. The interlacing alone took me a day to figure out how to get rid of, and then re-encode about 12 times to get it right. This is also the first time I've used Xvid, and let me tell you, that codec blows Mpeg-1 out of the water. It's a true godsend.
I hope you enjoy it, and please leave me an opinion if it' not too much to ask.
