Not Linkin Ball! OMG!

Post by Daio Kaji » Mon Jun 09, 2003 10:05 am

:) yes it's true, it's possible to make a dbz video without linkin park lol
j/k, calm down peeples
this video is the first video that i've ever truly finished, i even added an intro and outro (just text explaining amv) which i've never done before because all i've ever had was movie maker, but now i have MOVIE MAKER 2!!! so sweeet
i figured i'd practice making an amv using dbz before i get into making serious amv's with better animes.
because I used Rammstein's Du Hast, I didn't know the lyrics (me not knowing german and all) and I didn't need to know the lyrics because
1- it's a practice vid
2- most ppl don't know german and would probably not bother to look for the translation
3- all i needed was the beat of the music to practice with

the video goes through the entire dbz movie 8, the first brolly movie, so there are spoilers galore, but not entirely spoiled, there will still be stuff left to find out
all that said, here's the link, let me know what u guys think (btw: don't be harsh because it's dbz  )

Uh huh....but you understand this has been overdone too, and you are just abusing the series even more by making this vid, right?

Just making sure...you know....

*remaximizes premiere, presses ok, looks at the wmv file he just dled and deletes it*

On the contrare:

His comments about DBZ are even meaner.

"yes it's true, it's possible to make a dbz video without linkin park lol
j/k, calm down peeples"

Hah, funny.

"i figured i'd practice making an amv using dbz before i get into making serious amv's"

That did it.

I made dbz vids when I first started, because I didn't know many other animes. And that got me the spot as vid maker for dablackgoku.com. But dbz videos are dying now, it's really pointless to make one, unless you have some revolutionizing fantastic idea.... which is pretty pointless too. And WMM is shameful, for the sake of all that is holy, download premiere of kazaa or something.

just so u know premiere is on my list of things to get, i just need to copy it from the cd i already have it on, but i used movie maker 2 because of it's simplicity, i haven't been editing for very long, and to jump into a great editor like premiere seemed a little to quick on my part, i want to take it slower than that.

and my comments on dbz weren't to be taken seriously, i was attempting to use sarcasm (obviously failing) i'm a loyal fan of the show(s) except dbgt, i only like the first few parts of it

i'm also using dbz because of it's accessibility, i'm on 56k and my computer doesn't have a dvd-rom yet, so u can't tell me it's not easy to get clips of dbz to use in a video
i was making the linkin ball jokes because so many ppl have abused the series by making meaningless videos with very sub par quality footage, but there are great videos that have used dbz that are among the greatest

i don't like the comment u made about me just hurting the series, i'm planning to make a lot of dbz amv's that have purpose besides action in them and i think it's better to try to repair the damage done to dbz's reputation rather than ignore it and let it go to hell

i will take ur advice and get premiere when possible, but until then i'll be polishing up on movie maker 2

The video is fine in terms of a practice video, but unfortunately does nothing to do what you wanted it to do. To me, it still classifies as "just another one of those DBZ videos." An overused concept with an overused song.

Pie Row, maybe you didn't understand. He's only doing this for practice. There was no plot or anything. He just wanted to test the reins so to speak. And I think the only reason he's hosting it is so that he can get a little feedback. :? He wasn't really trying to break any boundaries.

kudos to flint for understanding

it doesn't matter who you are, everyone has to have a first video
as for plot and purpose, i'll give you guys plenty of that in later videos i have planned for

i guess to let you guys know, as soon as i get my dvd-rom, i'll begin ripping my eva dvds onto my computer and will begin working on a new video i'm doing with the song "Fortunate Song" by Creedence Clearwater Revival

if you tell me there is no originality in that song choice, let me know, i'll personally take you out back and toss oranges at you :)
