Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Alright. So I watched it again, and I have to say I liked it a lot more the second time. One thing you do well with all your videos is the way you incorporate titles/credits and the like. That's the first thing I noticed in this video - the clever way you introduced the story and the title of the video. The first 30 seconds are awesome because you do a good job at making the viewer think one thing is going to happen and then completely change the video's direction. I love it.

After that, things get a little iffy for me editing-wise. My main complaint is that a lot of the video really doesn't fit the pacing of the song, but then if you listen to the lyrics, you do pretty well with lyrical sync.

However, if it's humor you're going for, this video succeeds really well pretty much from start to finish. The disjointed pacing between the video and audio actually makes the video more comedic, so I'm willing to forgive it. That cut at 1:04 is bad no matter how you look at it, though :?

And then the ending and presentation of credits is genius. Love that part too.

So, now that I've actually looked at this a little closer, I'd bump your score up to 4/5 but I already gave you a star rating. I'll change it when my queue clears, if I remember.

But haven't you seen "The World is Living"? Because that's what will happen!

As for the video, like Cracky said, the flow in the second part is lacking, mostly due to the lack of dynamics. Also, the second part just had no structure and nothing climatic, it's actually the song's fault, but more your fault for picking that song! ;)

If you need more comments let me know!

PS. Yeah it's a challenge to know what your nose can handle!

Sorry bud, I overlooked this one, which is odd, given that I find the content rather agreeable.

Thanks, it does seem to be the general consensus that it goes to pot in the middle. The idea was to pace it like a romance, in spite of the music. Which is pretty dumb, in retrospect.
Re. the cut at 1:04, I did that A LOT originally, like went completely gaga and cut between them getting closer and the cu on their faces about 10 times, then toned it right down. You're right though, it's jarring, and not even timed spot on... hmm.
I think douggie nailed it though, there's almost no movement in the middle section, so it goes all 'flat' - I think that's what you're alluding to re. the pacing. Maybe.

Lol. Now i've got 7/5 for this one, if I tally my crackerz pointz + the scores I made up, I'm probably the greatest editor that ever lived. Sweet.

8-)

Do I hear the hum of rocket-powered goalposts being warmed up?

Stay alert people, we may need to run to six pages.

May I humbly suggest that this isn't the place to break your Centro De Advent addiction.
However, I would like to take this opportunity to make both a public apology, and something of a confession.

Without Scott's careful mentoring and tutelage, this amv could not have come into existence, and therefore it was a criminal oversight on my part not to mis-quote him without prompting. For this I am truly sorry.

Furthermore, when Scott and I made our escape from the still glowing embers of Dresden, it was he that heroically carried me over the hot coals, despite his broken legs and insignificant manhood. To my everlasting regret, my only thanks to him at the time was a good rogering while he slept, and the theft of his wallet. I will never forgive myself for my actions, nor for assuming his identity back in blighty, and banging his wife for three years while he languished in a nazi pow camp.

Despite this, I still hope that someday, perhaps, he may be able to forgive me these minor transgressions.

Thanks, I'll pretend you're talking about my incredibly polished amv making skillz, and not about the year we spent disguised as Spanish nuns in Guatemala. Man, those Novices sure were up for it, eh?
