  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

I'm a bit drunk right now, but I'll try my best to reply on the topic. It's actually my first attempt to comedy, it really surprised me at Animecon 2007 (Dutch convention) that people actually laughed. I was so nervous, because I myself didn't think it was that funny, so I actually wondered whether people would. I thought I had really wierd humour, but glad to see there are people here who think the same!

Thanks for your comments people! It's actually funny to see that some people find it original and some people not... Guess there are still some AMVs I need to watch!

i will now vote for this amv
nice concept and execution ;)
Thanks Funky! The voting for the AMV-part in the end was kind of a joke on the judging process on the con where there would be 10 random people selected from the crowd to be judge. Almost everybody hated that process...
Prodigi wrote:Eeeeh. Interesting concept, but similar things have been done before. I didn't really find it 'laugh out loud' funny, but there were 1 or 2 things that were kinda humorous. From a technicaly standpoint the video was great, but I think you could have executed the concept a little better.
Thanks! Yeah, Nio already told me so that there where similar AMVs done in the past, but the only one I know is Failed Experiments in Video Editing. Maybe you could point me to some other AMVs with the same concept, because I'm kinda curious! And eh.. maybe you could elaborate more on how I could execute the concept a little better?
Falconone wrote:yeah it was really cool, it is a new idea. Good cuts and good fitting of scenes, sound and text.
Thanks, glad you like it!
-Good for Nothing- wrote:very cool, flawless stuff, all wrapped up consistently.

what I feel is the best part about this is the presentation, maintaining the same style thus bringing in new ideas while being coherent and humorous one at a time...

no complaints on the technical side, just that some parts have been done in this fashion in other vids already...
Thanks! Yeah, it was kinda hard trying to come up with stuff that had the same style of humour for each technique - to find a way to make each technique be technically correct, but wrong and non-sensical at the same time (I'm not that a funny guy, so comedy is kinda hard for me to do).
ScorpionP wrote:0_0 That was really cool :D !
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks! Glad you can 'feel' that! :P

otherwise though i found it more serious than all that funny
since I mean, it was basically a pretty serious guide, only that the source was comedy :>
Haha, I tried to be funny, but guess it worked more on some that on others! Or maybe you're a person who likes this sort of syncing? O_o

I don't know, did you already check your Media Player playlist? :)

Thanks, show it to your friends tommorrow! (the reply "glad you liked it" was kinda getting old by now :D)
qyll wrote:Haha. Very nice. I liked it.
Thanks! Glad you're still laughing!
Greggus1 wrote:I call for sticky.

Just keep it up, man. You rock
Thanks glad you liked it (even though it's not that artistic compared with my previous AMVs). Well, a sticky would be great, but maybe we should just put a category "AMVs for n00bs" or "Educational AMVs" in the Recommended Forum! ;)
Warheart wrote:Whoa, originality :D.

Shamless technique showoff. I like the idea and very good quality as well, just not very reviewable since the idea can't keep up with the flow of action videos or the like. Still very fucking awesome. :)
Thanks, glad you found it original! Where where you at Animecon - I really wanted to compete against you in the AMV contest! :P Maybe you could start already for the next deadline (Maybe I'll speak to you at Abunai?)! And eh.. shameless showoff? Since when is syncing showing off? ;)

Haha, didn't you like this one? I'll make announcement tommorrow night, especially for you! (yeah I know I promised to put it up a long time ago, but I wanted to get rid of some mistakes + didn't have much time + etc. :P)

I liked this.
Thanks! I'll make education more fun by doing the next line-up:
Advanced Algebra Technique Beat
European History Technique Beat
French Grammar Technique Beat
Topology Technique Beat
Karma Sutra Technique Beat
And yeah, who wouldn't forget the cleavage! :P

Yay fun stuff, Douggie. It wasn't making me laugh out loud much, but the video was still entertaining and the concept was an interesting one. Nice work.
Reeeigggna! (and not Regina, right?!) Yeah, will do! Thanks for comments and glad you liked it!

3.8/5
Thanks! The rating you gave me is my average right now! (which is still 0.3 more that the averages of my other vids!)
Tsunami Jones wrote:I was entertained by it
Thanks! Glad you were entertained!
???? wrote:Good job. Rather original too. My only worry is that you're planning to overuse this concept with what you mentioned in the video comments. Please don't.
Thanks for your comment, but don't think for one second I was really serious about that! I now officially retire from the Technique Beat-circuit! (even though a Hentai Technique Beat would be awesome! :P)

More replies tommorrow!

the scene's at the end where "the anime was moving within the Borders of the Comic Strip" I've been working-on-that for quite some time now and you've already mastered it!

Seems a lotta people missed the point of that thread, cuz I was talking about a small sect of experimental videos, and even then, I never said I didn't like them... I just didn't get their appeal as AMVs. |:>
