I thought it was really sweet. I didn't think the video was overly sappy at all. Maybe it's 'cause I'm a girl... :)

The only thing I didn't like in it were the puzzle pieces . The feathers all looked really nice (yes, even the white ones that went over the edges), and I think this is the best-looking (quality-wise) video I've ever seen to AMG. It looks a lot better than the actual DVD's, how many filters did you put into this thing? I wish my sappy AMG video looked that good.

But anyways, I think we need more of these good sappy vid's. They're one of my favourite kind. :)

Thank you.
lilgumba wrote:Those white borders just reminded me of ACen Iron Chef this year. Did you get the idea from using that from Iron Chef?
Actually I finished this video before ACen and thus I figured it out prior to the match. I figured that feathery mask would work given the theme of "Dreams." I R ORIGINAL :)
lilgumba wrote:The puzzle pieces....ugh....they were timed well that's for sure. ^_^**** I ended up liking the words at the end.
Like I said, I expected that reaction to the puzzle sequence, but it's what I wanted and I knew this reaction coming in. I am however glad the text worked for you. It was difficult coming up with a sequence/letter that fit that exact # of notes ;).
lilgumba wrote:One more thing, when dude (man I forgot his name) was going crazy there was the brunette chick there. Was that Belldandy?
As someone already said, that's Sayoko. I guess I was being "lazy" and didn't feel like masking her out. If anything, I figured people would be more annoyed by the blatantly obvious lyric sync ;). Anyway, I strongly recommend watching the OVA. You'll then realize I changed the story and am a heretic ;).

I know you'll be surprised, but this is a standard XviD encode with maybe one or two things changed within the settings and nothing in the script itself. I'm not very proficient at filtering and the only major one I have is for Escaflowne and was made for me by AbsoluteDestiny. I can share the XviD settings if you'd like though. And yeah I know about the AMG DVD's. They were asstastic in quality >_<. Even my MPEG-2 has a little grainy-ness.

I don't mean for this to be "hero(ine) worship," but it does mean a lot coming from you since I admire your (and your sister's) work and think you have debateably the best AMG romance video on the .org (In My Arms Again). I'd be lying if I said I didn't watch it a number of times prior to making my own and although I tried to divert slightly from yours (how mine ends), but regardless it's a source of indirect inspiration.

Thanks again for the kind words! More Sappy videos? Oh trust me, I got more in the queue ;)

Not too big of a deal, but updated with a direct link for the two of you who can't download via local links. Hopefully the large % of traffic was handled via the local and my bandwidth won't go bye-bye ;).

Enjoy!

Oh one more thing to add. That scene that was made up and doctored...it worked cause I thought it was part of the show. I knew the show wasn't how it was supposed to end like that cause I have read around. I had no clue though since I haven't seen the show so I took that for reality. Major clappage to you and Rozard for completely tricking me. 8)

Hmm. Sure, that'd be cool if you shared the settings. You can post them here or PM them to me. Thanks.

Oh c'mon, the male otaku are JUST as bad about sappy anime, if not more. You all know you love these My Girlfriend Is Just Like Belldandy videos, or you wouldn't keep making 'em. ;)

Next year - forget Journey. I'm tellin' you, it's a winner.

I found the puzzle pieces distracting at Otakon (I almost wondered if you were parodying the piano keys), but it makes sense after hearing the explanation here.

Really, though, our opinions don't matter when it comes to valentine videos. Congratulations on the win and a job well done. :)

Sorry..I found that hilarious..Sorry.

But the puzzle piece worked wonderful for me. That was great. :P
Overall it was very touching and romantic, Im glad I came across it. I can see a lot of effort was put into the AMV. Action/lyric synch was splendid, timing had no flaws, video quality was excellent, what more can I say? When Im down, this can be my medicine. My antidrug.

But if I was in one of those action/comedy/horror moods, I would reformat my harddrive and go throw up in the toilet.

Nah, Ill just come murder you :D

Yay one person likes the puzzle effect.
*Adds that to the tally and looks at the 10 million who hate it* ;_;

Belldandy is cool and all, but I'd rather not have such a submissive woman. It sounds good and all, but I've actually been attracted to really strong-willed and independent women lately. Why am I telling you this? :-?

Actually Journey is my "fallback" band assuming my original idea doesn't pan out. It makes sense. Peter Cetera/Chicago in 2003, Richard Marx in 2004 and Journey in 2005. Or rather Journey, Styx or Rush ;).

And yeah, I understand how distracting that effect is, but I knew that while making it. It's what I wanted to show/convey, so I said screw it. :-P

Oh yeah and thanks! ;)
