I like Angelic Layer (and I'm always looking for new good AMVs for it), so I downloaded this.

These are gonna sound like really mixed up comments, I'm sure, but that's because this video has a lot of differing points. A LOT of them. So, let's go at 'em point-by-point.

+- it's cool that you're using effects, but many of the ones you used just distracted from the video. I particularly did not like the tic-tac-toe board thing you did. However, the simple stuff like the white flashes, and some of the overlays at the beginning looked good and were timed well. Part of the problem I think is that some of the shaped effects literally looked rough around the edges. You could clearly see the pixels outlines, rather than the effect smoothly flowing into the anime background.

+ the song seemed to fit pretty well, although I admittedly don't know it.

+- the video quality would have been really good if you fixed the interlacing issue, and the audio sounded fine.

+- this video had a HUGE difference between the first half and the second half. In the first half, there were a lot of effects (not all of them good) being thrown at the viewer, and the video was overedited to an extreme. You did a LOT of flashing back and forth between clips, and that's just hard on the eyes. However, you matched the lyrics well in the first half, and I actually felt like the video was telling a story. In the second half, you toned down your editing and it looked really nice, and yet, you totally dropped all concept of a story in favor of just showing random Hikaru battles. So, if you combined the story-telling of the first part with the editing of the second part, I think you would have a terrific video.

Now, don't get me wrong. Even though my comments might not sound all that pleasant, I truly did enjoy this video a lot. It's been a long time since I've seen a full length AL video that was well-edited like this (everything else has just been short segments of MEPs that use the anime.) So, even though this probably isn't a keeper for me, it's still is a strong contender, and I applaud you for that. Nice work~! ^_^

I agree alot with what dj_ultima_the_great said

I felt the video was pretty unorganized. Some of the effects were beautifully done, but most of it was really wasnt easy on the eyes.

This video have alot of potental to be truely great. Just gotta polish your skills more.

since its only your third, for future videos, which i hope there are, stick to a limited number of effects. one or two different effects used throughout the video.

I hope that came out right. I mean that you should limit the amount of different effects and not the amout the effects are used.
