Ok.. I just have to mention this. I just watched the 2 AMVs (Tsukihime - Have I found a Way and this) I had downloaded a little while ago. And they BOTH have the masked in lip-sync face of doom >_< I must have been a bad boy.

On with the video itself:
I think the song/anime combination worked. Some of the crosseffects were nice <3 Other effects were mostly just distracting. I just can't mostly enjoy these kind of AMVs anymore :( Lip-sync face of doom really killed this video for me too.

Okay, I finally downloaded the finished product and these are my thoughts (partly based on the suggestions I gave before).

1. Lip sync - still kind of fast, and I still saw mouth movements in other places. I have to say, you did it well, but I'm just not a fan of masking and lip synching like that. Personal preference. Still, if it's something that you wanted in the video, then that is what is most important. Despite my not liking it, it was used well.

2. Beat sync - very good. I liked the latter half of the video better because I think it didn't feel so cluttered. Sometimes there was a little too much going on onscreen in the first half of it.

3. Adding in the effect to emphasize the piano melody - I think it worked. It especially helped give the end of the video some definition.

4. Man, I swear that I've heard a million versions of "Join Me in Death," but here is yet another! I first heard the song on my Resident Evil: Apocalypse soundtrack, and I loved it because of its dreamlike quality and downright creepy message. I even came up with a video to the song, but it probably won't be done for a long time. Anyway, I haven't seen the anime, so I'm not sure if the song was a good choice or not, but the lyric sync seemed to be pretty good from what I could tell.

5. One question: why is there, like, one scene of RahXephon? Somehow, that just doesn't fit.

Sorry I'm not actually giving this a normal opinion. I would if I knew the anime or understood more where you were coming from with this concept, but I haven't and I don't. Besides, I wouldn't feel right giving an opinion this shoddy - yes, this is shoddy for me. Normally, I go through each and every category, highlight the good and the bad, cite specific examples, give advice on how to improve, and close it all by restating the score. As you might guess, that makes for very, very long opinions. So, this won't do for a proper opinion for me. Sorry again.

Anyway, I hope that some of what I said helps or otherwise impacts on your future videos.

As always, Farewell, Good Luck, and Happy AMV-ing!

wow... someone actually noticed this topic
/me is very suprised 0.o

Thank you for commenting ^^

... well, This is my 3rd proper AMV I've made using sony Vegas (the first one I made was just some messing around with lip sync and effects), and I still don't know all the tricks... I put more effort to this one than on my previous ones, but I was still experimenting many things in it :P

I answered on one opinion, where was a question about the RahXephon scene, like this:
At first I had subs on that RahXephon part ("She will give you paint that you can't bear"), and that RahXephon scene fitted so well into it (and I think it still kinda fits well in there)

XD ... well, I only added it because I wanted to practise masking in Vegas

... Now afterwards (when I've watched the video many, many times) I agree. <.< Too many effects on the first part.

But anyway... I'll remember (at least try to remember) the suggestins you've given when I'll make next AMV ^^
God that was a bad typo...
