XO - Diebuster
Finally finished this video. I'm not completely happy with it as per usual, but I really love this combo and I enjoy watching it a lot. It's also been a while since I edited to any kind of rap music so I feel the verses are a bit odd.
Hope you enjoy anyway!

It's good! Simple beat sync at the beginning draws you in, aesthetics of your scenes match the song well, and when the rap started I got a huge adrenaline rush. I think the reason you don't see more rap AMVs is that lyric sync is just sort of hopeless, since there's usually no way a first time listener can follow the lyrics and the video at once. For that reason I think in the second half the AMV suffers a bit, not because you did anything wrong, but just because of the song itself. I still couldn't parse the rap lyrics fast enough to see how they were matching the song, and the enjoyment I got from the raw beat syncs and aesthetics was wearing thin.
Still quite enjoyable and a good job. I'll save it for rewatching later and see if I can catch any lyric syncs you had in there.

My gawd. This sold me on Diebuster. I need to watch it asap! The flow was so engaging, and it had me literally on the edge of my seat. Can you upload this to the org's local server or google drive so that I can download a copy?

Awesome, glad you enjoyed it! It's always great when a video convinces you to watch the source.
It should be available for download now

Yeah, I definitely feel you. If I were to try proper lyric sync the video would be completely unwatchable as it would be going too fast!vivafruit wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2020 12:41 pmIt's good! What I did try to go for though was to pick out some of the more prominent words/themes throughout the rap verses and sync to those. Even that was a bit sketchy so I also ended up doing a bit of colour match with the visuals as well to help smooth it through.
Glad you enjoyed it anyway, and I hope you are able to get more from it on rewatch.

Totally unlike any other Diesbuster AMV I've seen. This was quite good. I don't really have much more to say, good job!

Thank you very much! I was worried it would be fairly typical Diebuster fare, glad to hear it's not!CrackTheSky wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 8:40 pmTotally unlike any other Diesbuster AMV I've seen. This was quite good. I don't really have much more to say, good job!
