I love, love, love this song. I spent a good couple of years trying to think of an anime that would suit it and finally my brain landed on Diebuster and it was the perfect match.
I spent a very long time working on this AMV. In my YouTube description for "Secrets" I allude to working on a more complicated project - that is this video.
"XO" was definitely a labour of love. I've watched many awesome hyped up Diebuster action AMV's in my time and I wanted to make something that had some chance of standing shoulder to shoulder with those. There was much fiddling over the minutiae of frame placement and speed in order to ensure several moments were synced correctly. By the time I was finished with it I was so fed up with trying to get everything exactly perfect that I felt the whole thing was a terrible mess and not good at all. It's only really been within the last year or so that I've been able to watch this video without judgement and I realise it is actually quite good, and I am proud of it.
Made using Kdenlive on a home brew PC running Ubuntu
