Haunted (Fatal Frame)
Yes, all I make are Fatal Frame AMV's.

Hm...not much to say that I haven't already in the video comments except this: I have NO clue why the audio keeps turning out...less than stellar. It seems no matter how HQ the original source is, my video editor craps all over it no matter how I export it (I use MPEG Video Wizard, by the way), so any helpful suggestions regarding that would be extraordinarily awesome.

pretty simple editing but I still kind of liked it, maybe it the sources
. As for your audio problem, I dont usually encode AVI, but when I do, I use LAME MP3 and set the rate to around 128 kb/s. Like many others, I usually encode my videos to h264 MP4 with AAC audio.

...and there's a problem with that?Spatula_Castle wrote:Yes, all I make are Fatal Frame AMV's.

Anyway, you caught me at a good time, meaning I actually don't have eleventy billion videos in my pending stars for once. I'll download this now and comment later.

Re: Haunted (Fatal Frame)
Alright, so I really enjoyed this. The storyline is my favorite part of the Fatal Frame games, and I feel like it's kind of glossed over and forgotten in most videos, which is understandable given how much of the story is told through journals while they instead use the cutscenes for random scary ghost introductions. Still, I like to see some focus on it, and I think it was a good move on your part to shorten the song and accommodate that.
About the audio... I don't really notice anything bad about it, but I also didn't use headphones. If you think it's been changed too much, though, then I guess you can get some advice on how to help it, but it doesn't seem to me like a huge issue right now. As for the cuts you did, I actually really liked the placement of the first one. It was pretty seamless. The second one was a little more noticeable, but still not all that jarring. It's too bad about the way the song ends, though. It makes for a very abrupt closing on your video, but there's not much you can do for it, I suppose.
I've known this song for a long time, so I'm surprised that I didn't notice the connection between these lyrics and the game before. It's a perfect fit, save for the fact that it would be better for this video if it were performed by a woman. Oh well. I loved the concise telling of the story, and I never felt like any scene dragged on too long. I guess the only criticism I'd level at it is the frequent white flashes at the first scene where Yae/Sae are running through the forest. I know that that scene already has some flashes built into it (I frequently find myself shaking a fist at the game's built-in effects, at least in terms of editing videos), but I'd wager that you added a few, too, and it's just a lot of brightness going on. You might have broken it up with a different scene intertwined throughout, and the shift to a different style might have eliminated the need for the contrasting flashes. Footage was probably stretched thin for this one, though, which is why I said before that cutting the song was a smart move. It's unfortunate that half of the scenes are rendered with the in-game engine or you (we?) would have a lot more footage to work with.
Besides that, I'm sorry that I don't have much of anything useful to tell you. I definitely see your improvement with each video, though, so whatever you're doing, you're doing it well and should keep up the efforts. Nice work.

PS: I vote for a Camera Obscura that can take digital video. Continuous combo attack! Or how about the "remove red eye" lens upgrade?

Re: Haunted (Fatal Frame)
I guess it could be my laptop speakers or my craptastic headphones that make it sound kinda bad to me, though the audio always seems to sound better before I export it...hmm. I'm glad you thought the cuts were at least mostly seamless (first time editing audio in Audacity...or any audio editor...) I was really stuck on the ending too, since this way is awfully abrupt but trying to end it any later than that (scene wise and audio wise) was not fun.dj_ultima_the_great wrote:Alright, so I really enjoyed this. I second this vote, and add on a macro lens for taking pictures of tiny ghosts.dj_ultima_the_great wrote:PS: I vote for a Camera Obscura that can take digital video. Continuous combo attack! Or how about the "remove red eye" lens upgrade?
