sigh - I knew that this would be a problem using this song, as it is really a romance song. There is a twinge of romance undertones in the video, but not the main focus - for those of you viewing this vid based just on the song, please bear this in mind when viewing it :)

buma's odd editing style strikes again! I've even added a blurb about it in the video write-up about it... (I also added a summary of events for all you non-BAV watchers out there - hopefully it will help?)

well, your wish almost came true... you can blame this video that made me not want to make this one overtly yuri :) Oh, and thanks for your kind words about the video quality. It is now very squeaky (a bit too squeaky, perhaps?) - and I thought that Eva regular release had horrid footage... <shudder>

you know, I always seem to get that response from you :) and does nearly a week seem too long to name the video??? huh huh huh??

:)

Thanks guys and gals for all the comments!

I enjoyed parts of it. I personally didn't see the connection between the video and the song a lot of the time...other times it seemed to work. It was a very 'on-and-off' type video for me, where it would really resonate with me and then the next scene would just totally negate that, and so on.

The quality was excellent, and the editing was very appropriate for the song.

Overall, 3/5, I'm just a little confused at the song/concept pairing.

Kinda seemed like a tribute to the anime to me. Guess u can understand the Story from the anime with this amv.
The only lyrics I understood were " In your eyes i'm complete", so I only enjoyed the music and drank my cup of tea ^^

How I describe this amv : Good atmoshpere, some drama and then a turning part and a happy end.
Conclusion : Its really relaxive !! thx !!

Now some editing points :
Well since I don't know the editing sources u were using it would be very cheeky to complain abt. quality.
It had mostly smooth transitions wich fits well to the song. I think 2:30 - 2:50 should have a better timing somehow.

overall nothing memorable but it will last some time on my HD

first off, thanks Millenium Strife for the QC! And too, thanks for the other anonymous QC's, good or bad - as even if you didn't like the vid, you took the time to tell me.

yeah, that is one of my fears about my choice of this pairing - people not understanding why I made this choice - which is okay since I am really sort of stretching the meaning out quite a bit. Playing off of the love aspect of the song and pairing it with the love between apparent rivals may have pushed it; then adding another level with the race and other events...

hehehe - another happy accident?

here's the 'test' image I first did when I started the project showing the before / after filter views. As you can see, the video quality is rather bad - I was happy that I could get it to the level shown in the video.

And too, that point in the video you mention was a rather difficult transition for me as originally I had intended to place a 'flash forward' back to the present time of the video. When I removed that scene, I had a problem. I then started going backwards from near the end of the song and worked my way back to that point to figure out how to make the transition. I know what you are saying, however.

and fyi - here's a link to the lyrics to the song
Jadd wrote:you know I like it...
whee! another convert to the 'cult of buma'
Jubbers wrote:So glad you took the extra time to tweak this. Like Yue, I also got the yuri undertones (I haven't seen 'Say Anything', so no association there), but also another interpretation of the lyrics as I watched. Nice work! The final version is extremely sparkly.
hehehe - you said 'extra time' :) - and I'm glad that my stretching of the emotional lyrics of the song didn't go so far and tear the fabric of the pairing (well, at least for you - hopefully more will follow?). And yes, it's 'sparkly' like a windup toy Godzilla (toned down a bit too per our previous discussions :))
