ever had an anime ruin your amv idea?
i know this sounds rather odd considering an amv uses anime clips that someone else made but it has actually happened to me several times. I both watch anime and read manga (often of the same series, for instance i am both reading the naruto and bleach mangas while watching the anime series at the same time). Often i will get a very nice idea for an amv based on the manga as i have a picture in my head of what the anime scenes will be like and then i piece them together along with music and plan out an amv.
The problem is when the anime suddenly diverts from the manga. This has just happened to me, i have been reading and watching the Claymore series which is quite good and have been piecing together my amv as each new episode is released. My amv was supposed to reach a climax using a very awsome scene in the manga. But in just the last few episodes of the anime the story completely diverted away from the original plot (the one in the manga) because the anime series is going to end without incorperating all of the manga's material. So because of this i just lost one of the best visual scenes i wanted to use in my amv (which is currently about 95% complete) and so i'll have to think of something else to fill in that final space. This has happened to me before to lesser extents when for example in another series i was thinking of doing an amv on the scenes i had planned to use were much less exciting than depicted in the manga.
This is a bit of a rant and i am a frustrated that my almost finished amv has to be revamped but i was curious as to whether this has happened to anyone else, where the anime you wanted to use either fell below your expectations or ended up being unusable because of changes in it's material.

I generally finish watching an anime before starting an AMV for it, so I don't come across that problem.
What you can plan before finishing the anime is the visual style and type of AMV you want to make.
Then I generally listen to a huge range of music afterwards in the hopes that something clicks with what I have in mind.

use the manga too?
what irritates me is when i get an amv idea and i see the visuals in my head, and those visuals arent in the anime or the manga >:[
yet somehow my imagination somehow conjured up that idea
or even worse: i get amv ideas based off of fanfiction..

the frustrating part is that this scene was not some minor thing that could just be skipped over, it's a major event, and up until this point the anime had been following the manga very closely so i had no reason to expect them to change it. it was as if naruto was just about to face sasuke in their battle at the waterfall and then suddenly naruto remember that he missed lunch and runs home so the fight is called off. in other words a wtf moment. Guess i'll just save my amv ideas until im sure ive seen all the material i want to use
