Post by cyberlistener » Sun Oct 24, 2004 5:03 pm

People on this website make alot of amv but how does that make anyone feel. Your out for alot of critisim, and you don't really know what people think of it?

Don't take it seriously but it's just a thought.

It's all about the masturbatory self-satisfaction.

When I get finished and watch it, and it says to me just what I was trying to get from it, I feel happiness at creating something that hasn't been done before.
Then if my kids or even someone else says they like it I feel uplifted.
When my amv was played at a con and people cheered it, even though I know I'm not a good editor, I about had a heart attack.
We all like to be praised, even if it's only a little, we like to think we have done something that others enjoy.

I am awed by the imagination and editing abilities of the creators of many of these amvs. I am impressed by anyone who puts their heart and soul into creating one of these little movies. They have done something amazing, at least to someone from before the computer era.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

that's why we like it when watchers leave opinions. we hope with enough opinions, we can have a representative sample of what everyone who has watched our videos think.

unless by "you don't really know what people think of it" you refer to a fundamental problem of psychology (that we have separate minds and never have direct access to each other's thoughts) or even epistemology (that we can't know whether other people even have thoughts).
