Well the appitamy of badness has to be a DBZ video, captured from VHS, no editing whatsoever (just some fight dump) and all to a Linkin Park track.
Trust me, I've seen em.
On a serious note, what sort of music would you avoid, animes you plain hate or do you have a grudge against a creator? (lol)
And what animes/songs have been done to absolute death, so much so that you would never download that song or anime ever again, even at the chance of missing the greatest AMV ever made?
Let me know, It's nice to bring something fresh to the table, I'm currently working on an Ah My Goddess AMV, with music by Evanescence - Everybody's fool.
It's going OK, I'm just ready to watch a beta of it now, but I lack motivation for this video, I may just can it.

I saw a decent Gundam Seed/Evanescence vid once by Kyouto. It was bring me to life, but it was spoiled by interlacing (OH NOS!) and really crappy quality. The blocks...THE BLOCKS!!!
BTW, how can you screw an AMV up so much as to taking a progressive video, interlacing it, and then encoding it as progressive?! I dunno eh.
There are a lot of videos I'd like to see remastered too

Well, I guess I'll just answer the title of the thread since the rest seems to be inviting the usual 'overused=hell bane' responses. Nothing new there.
Types of amvs I won't watch? Anything that has 'boobs' or a derivative of that in the title - the only exception being if it's a parody of other fanservicey vids. Anything with a 'hentai' warning - I don't care for it in anime, so I wouldn't watch it in amvs. Anything for the following pairings if it's a romance vid - Van/Hitome, Inuyasha/Kagome/Kikyo, Kenshin/Kaoru/Tomo, Tamohome/Miaka, Heero/Relena, Li/Sakura - basically the 'expected' pairings that swamp the vids for certain anime. Anything focused on Love Hina type slapstick+fanservice comedy, or the 'harem' concept, such as Tenchi. Anything focusing on the Kenshin OVA's, Grave of Fireflies, Voice of a Distant Star, Onegai Teacher/Twins, and lots more that don't come to mind at the moment - Naruto looks like it will be added soon if I don't see some variety in the 'subjects/concepts' of the videos. Anything using the original Dragonball unless I know the creator of the video. Anything using DBZ/GT that focuses on Gohan or Goku or Goten (basically, an 'Sons' videos) - again, unless I know the creator.
I guess that gives the main ones I actively avoid when I can. I'll still watch almost anything if asked, but I won't get them on my own.
As for song - I don't care. I've been disappointed repeatedly with 'Bring me to life' vids, but I did find 2 that were interesting enough to keep (interesting to me - not to say the rest were 'bad'). I really don't like watching Linkin Park videos that completely ignore the lyrics, but that's true for almost any english song. I rarely watch japanese songs unless I like the anime used, but that's just because I won't 'see' the story otherwise. I really really dislike country music as a rule, but there are a few songs I wouldn't mind watching vids for. I haven't seen that many good rap songs used in vids, but I wouldn't discount one if I knew the anime used.
Basically, I don't care about the songs that much. Aside from songs I've used in my own vids, there aren't any that I go out of my way looking for on the org. And I wouldn't 'ignore' a video just because of the song used unless I didn't know the anime either (or disliked the concept).
