I doubt the wholl #amv deal makes any differance for most people but I wouldt agree that the forum mostly helps people get off the ground a bit.

Ontopic - I've seen some people and names that go around allot and talk allot so to say but that havent done or nearly havent done jack. Imo it dosnt realy mather but I'd like to say that its not all about just making video's but also getting to know people over the forum and thus like castor said place the names to the faces irl...

my posts are so random i cant even keep track of them myself -_-"

also 1 thing i'd like to add is that some people from #amv have infact done good if not great video's but not thnx to the chan so for further ado just keep the chan out of this ;)

I usually pop in every now and again to check out the community for some material for the webcomic.

Was nice last year at Otakon to put some faces on a few names, so thats kinda cool too.

Aside from that, no big AMVs from me. Someday....or not. Meh.

I doubt theres any sort of reasoning behind it other than personality types.

I think for me, the forum presence is what helped me improve so quickly when I started. I did lots of ops, and that pretty mych stocked me up on ideas of things to do and things not to do in my own amvs, and That was thanks to the forums. I think I started my forum presence in the Opinion exchange thread and then kinda branched out from there as I got to know more people. I'm actually normally not the type to go hanging around forums, chatrooms, and stuff like that, but AMV is THE only one that has actually stuck with me. This is because of the community.

So yea, the forums has had a pretty big influence on my videos I think.

Eh. I'm on the forums a lot (953 posts, not including this one), but my videos still suck. Granted, the forums gave me a place for feedback and help, both giving and receiving - and I do hope that I've managed to help out a few people over all this time.

Beyond that, though... I don't think being an active forum member had a big impact on my videos. Neither did being in #AMV. But I know that both have aided many others besides me.
