I think WMM1 is not available for individual download anymore..
Nor is WMM2 I believe. (Doesn't it come with the SP2 package now?)
And even 2 is outdated anyway now that 2.1 has been out for a while.
Nooooo!
Two more keys to type in the .2

Anyways, WMM isn't as advanced as other editing programs like Premiere, but it can sure as hell create some awesome stuff.

I think it's better to start with something like Premiere personally.
I hate it when people get to start with something like Vegas or Premiere. It just gets me down when I'm like 'Why must I got through the crap that is WMM and they get paradise from the start?'

Of course, I've never used the two-VCR, so I feel I can't make that judgement.

There is nothing wrong with starting out with WMM, or using it now for that matter. I had fun with WMM, it was actually much more enjoyable making vids with it than with Premiere, too bad the output quality was terrible back then or I would never have switched.

Premiere is no paradise...

It only gets worse when you get better at it. :?

i don't think wmm1 was ever available for individual download. i thought it just came packaged with windows me and xp.

wmm 2.0 is downloadable.

wmm 2.1 only comes with the sp2 package

I have a faint memory of downloading WMM1 from microsoft, but I may have mistaken it for WMM2.

Ah, I was referring to Cyanna's initial statement of getting WMM off Microsoft's site. I think WMM2's individual download was taken off Microsoft's site after the release of SP2, no?

Now that I think about it, it was much easier with WMM. Projects took one weekend instead of 3 months :)
