Actually, the admins have been meaning to tackle the musical artist entries the same way they cleaned up the anime entries, but it's just a LOT harder. Sorry, but you can probably expect that this won't be changed anytime soon. It's a huge topic and would take many brave souls to attempt it. ~_~;;

PS: Sky - it matters on a whole... not just "likin park." The entire database needs the overhaul, but, well... I already said above that it's HUGE.

*Thinks about it*

I guess you're right...the number of different spellings for certain bands is entirely ridiculous. I can't imagine the effort it would take to go through and consolidate all of those :/ We'd probably lose a good fifth of the entries in the database.

There's that, and there are also "i dunno lol" listings of many, many, many kinds - you'd have to either watch all of those and attribute them, which is a punishment that no one deserves, or do some kind of quarantine/deletion mojo to let these morons fix their damn listings, which they wouldn't bother to do anyway.

My inner spell-checker/perfectionist twitches, but seriously, nobody has that kind of free time.

Alot :o There's currently over 46,000 entries in the database that would have to be gone through.

Is it possible to just delete those entries? I mean, it's their fault for using the incorrect spelling after all.

/mmmm, good ol' harshness

Wouldn't that go against the point of the .org? You know, cataloging every AMV ever made (by people that use the .org, that is)?

:/
