Bea$t - Cradle of fear (Fatal Frame 1-3)

Post by Bea$t » Fri Oct 12, 2007 11:15 pm

Hello, everybody!
So, I've decided to show you my last work. Maybe some of you have already seen this AMV, because I've posted it in many forums :) And if you haven't seen it, I've posted it here :D So, take a look at it and I'm waiting for your comments ;)

P.S. This is my first time, when I'm on english-language forum, so don't beat me hard for my english :P

I adore Fatal Frame, so I had to get this.

I liked it, because it was good, interesting editing, without trying to force the scare-factor too much. There were one or two filters that I didn't care for (and I know the games VERY well, so I know which "effects" are and are not in Fatal Frame). The "old film" effect that you applied sometimes seemed out of place. It was more obvious than the ones already in the games.

In any case, though, I liked how you worked the scenes together. In a couple of cases, you made it look like more than one ghost was going after a character, which I liked.

Video quality could have been a bit better, I think, but I know from experience that Fatal Frame isn't the prettiest source to work with. It has so many natural noise filters, and then the creators didn't do a great job cleaning up the few scenes that didn't have those filters. It's definitely nice and watchable, though.

Overall, I enjoyed it. Lots of good, strong beat syncing, and an interesting song choice as well.

You should have mentioned this was in Deprecon, I would have been all over this the first time I saw the topic title. Is there a compilation of the other entries anywhere?

Awesome video, though I wonder how much is editing and how much is just in the footage? Did you use many effects?

Agree, sometimes I used it to force action, but sometimes it really looks out of place...

It's an accident :) I didn't mean to do this, it just turned out like this by itself :P

Well, Deprecon is still running, so I just didn't mentioned it :P But it really is in Deprecon though.
First it was for VS battle, then I've been invited on Deprecon and still hope to won something :)

I've done it in a week, because it was the VS battle rule. Originally there was a lot of video, but many of CG's were very short and I couldn't use it in this AMV. So, in the end it was really small amount of useful scenes. As for effects, not so much - some "old film", some "color correction". But "old film" used in many scenes :)

Why so? As for me, I like more first half of this video :P

P.S. Thanks you all for such a nice comments ;)

Something you may want to make note of, you can upload your video here, it fits within the org requirements and it would make it a bit easier for people to download. The direct link is rather slow.

Yes, you should upload this to the org.

In lieu of a Quick Comment: I loved this, it had great sync and pacing. I was just sorry it was over so fast. Bonus points for the Silent Hill intro music, and adding the Crimson Butterfly to the shower scene at the end.

I just can't upload it again :( I'm on dial-up and it's real hard to upload 25 Mb in about 2-3 hours. And it costs much. Maybe I'll upload it in a couple of monthes, when I get normal communication servises :))) But not now, sorry.
purplepolecat, thanks :)

Freaking SLICK editing in here  The feeling was very cool - not quite horror, but much creepier than most videos, and I've really come to like Fatal Frame videos (they all seem to be so good). I'm definitely glad I grabbed this, you should upload to Local, but until you do I will say this'd get an easy 5/5 from me :)

Well that was good. Strong sense of beat sync and nicely done internal sync as well in some parts. Loved the flashes ;) I don't have much else to say. The comments above pretty much nail my opinions about this as well.

Nice ending by the way! Creepy 8-)

4.25/5
