  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.

Well Castor and I can take care of filming people playing the various video games as a start up as well as the title screen. and in regards to what you said for the very end of the project.

I have an NES game called "Golden Dragon" when you run out of lives a tombstone appears on a black screen with just the wordds "it's a pity you're dead." Now how can we possibly do this project without that image on the screen at the end?

Yahoo Nes Project Mailing list

I am interested in knowing what kinds of ideas you are having... so if
you want, email me with the songs you'd like to use and the anime(1 or
more)... this will remain private as to avoid potential issues... :P

more simply put: email me if you'd like to be involved

fluxmeister@yahoo.com

I will be putting together a basic website listing those involved etc. etc.

The plan so far is to simply have the project done by some time in 2003...

As for intros/outros and other bits, I am still curious as to what ideas
people might have. I like those that have come up so far. The connection
between songs is important, but honestly I don't think people will die if
there is a slight slowdown etc. It has been a whole 3 days since the project was announced, so I'd like to allow for a little time... allowing for more ideas and possibly more interested video editors!

Thanks again for all your interest,

Sweet idea, hopefully I can get this video done in a couple months. I'd love to join in.

oh the fun hours of Tetris...probably one of the most simplistic, addictive games of all time.

hehe

This sounds like a whole lot of fun...

Now all I've got to do is track down a dance version of some of the music from "Chip 'n Dale's Rescue Rangers" and I'll be set. 8)

Why not bookend each video with short clips of the actual game (during the music)? That way, in between each song you're transitioning from NES game to NES game...with that, you could easily just do a big pixelly dissolve for effect :)
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

And you could also start each video with whatever the 'game start' screen was for the game, and end it with the 'thank for playing' screen. And for whatever is the last vid/game, use the scene/animation for when you actually beat whatever the game is. Then go to white noise/static like you turned off the NES and then the 'fade to a point' effect that looks like the TV was turned off...

Personally, I hope this goes really well just so there can be a Sega project that can be started off with the semi-digitized-sounding "Saaaay-ga" that played whenever you turned the system on (I wish they'd kept that for the DC). :p

Heh, Ashyukun just gave me an idea.

I know that anybody who ever had an NES has run into the problem of a game not starting up when you hit the power button, and instead you'd get the reset screen (the screen flashing from blue to white over, and over...and over).

That annoying flashing screen of death could be used as a transition tool between videos. The video that is ending would get all distorted and pixilated and fade out into the flashing screen blue and white screen, which would flash a couple of times (like 3 or so from blue to white to blue again) and then the next video would start.
You could have a sound effect during the flashing of someone blowing into an NES cartridge and putting it back into the NES as well, before the next video started.

Anyone that had an NES would appreciate a transition like that.
Everyone is not the same as you.
Get over it.
And lighten up.
