Children of Daicon (Anime Expo Judges Favorite)

Post by machina21 » Mon Jul 05, 2010 2:51 pm

Well, here we are.

Not much to say, i'll leave that to ya'll. I certainly hope you enjoy it. However, more than anything else go watch the original Daicon openings on teh 'Tube or wherever. I guarantee they are far more enjoyable (crap quality and all) than my vid.

And beware of flying Bunny Girls... :uhoh:

Absolutely fantastic masking jobs in this.
Overall I thought the video was really random, but it was pretty good. =]

This is an issue that I had with the vid and I wont be surprised if it is a repeated concern. This thing is basically a 4:46 long game of "spot that reference". If you get the reference, you'll probably like it. If not, then the video is basically random crap going on with no context. The original shorts were just as random BUT the common thread was the Bunny Girl and that gives someone watching something to key into. There is no such thing here and I probably should have done a better job accounting for that.

But thank you anyway and I had a helluva time masking this thing, good grief.

Not bad, but yeah, the video does require a pretty high knowledge of Gainax stuff, Daicon 4 specifically, to really enjoy.
