REMARKS:
I marked "Other" as one of the categories for this video because it isn't particularly intended to be an action video or a fun video (although those certainly are factors) as much as it's intended to be an experiment in communicating motion and kinetic energy through anime. I wanted to convey the feeling that the anime footage was not just used to enhance the music, but that it instead felt like a graphic equalizer for the sound of the music, every beat and tempo flux being reflected by the video shots used.
I also made this video specifically with the Anime Weekend Atlanta Video Animation Track's second annual AMV Dance in mind, because I never made a really good dance-worthy video before... and lo and behold TJ Hamilton announced a new Dance Video contest for AWA about a week after I completed this video. So you can count on this video appearing not only at A-kon and the AWA VAT dance, but at the AWA dance video contest too!
This video is RIFE with special digital effects, but most will go unnoticed since they were mostly used subtly, to smooth the transitions from one scene to the next. I wanted no sense of being jarred out of one anime and into another. Instead I wanted it to feel as though the viewer were flying over a huge anime multiverse, phasing in and out of many realities, dreamlike, without feeling the impact of the change... unless of course the music called for an impact of that kind. Don't go into this EXPECTING to see a ton of digital FX, because if I did my job right, you won't notice them.
