-NARUTO ANIME SPOILERS-
The video, which features the song "All To Blame" by Sum-41, is about Sasuke, a young orphan who's family was slaughtered by his older brother, Itachi. In his search for vengeace and closure, Sasuke comes to the realizaton that on his current path, he may never become powerful enough to defeat Itachi.
Already jealous of the strength of his partner Naruto and fed up with his elders, Sasuke decides to take a dark route to power, and joins forces with the story's main antogonist, Orochimaru. Before he leaves, he challenges Naruto to a fight. The battle is harsh and fast, but before a winner can be declared the fight is broken up. Humiliated and frustrated, Sasuke leaves his village behind and heads to the Sound village for the forbidden teachings of Orochimaru.
-BEFORE YOU RATE THIS VIDEO-
I'd like to explain a few reasons I believe this video should be rated highly in each catagory.
Originality: There is a good amount of "things that didn't happen" in this video. I worked hard to bring in "original" footage, that is, things you haven't seen before, such as the very first shot of the AMV (see effects below for more info). Also, I made sure that the video not only showed the best fighting moments of Naruto, but carefully worked in the emotions that caused the fights as well.
Visuals: A lot of visual work went into this. The scene with Sasuke walking in all black and the images in the background took is a great example of the amount of layered visuals I used. Tons of overlays, not to mention add-ons to prexisting footage, ie Itachi's glowing eye's and head symbol.
Effects: Lee in Gaara's eye, the changing photograph, the opening forhead protector, the red lighting behind Naruto in the intro, the flashing cursed seal. Sasuke's reflection in the blood, the spinning sharingan, all examples of the digital work I did.
Action Synching: The intro speaks for itself. None the less, I spent a lot of time working with speeding up and slowing down clips to make sure it's all in time with the pulsing music. Two of my favorite bits you'll notice:
-Hand seals are all on beat
-In the final Itachi sequence, the fight is all timed up
Lastly, but NOT least, special thanks to this video, I used a .35 second clip from it in the intro.
