• Comments: Footage from the Berusaiyu no Bara anime series and the live action Lady Oscar movie (1978, based on the manga) combined in a glorious union, with that funky disco feeling.
  
  This movie was never meant to go beyond me, Fuzzy White Rat, and Sadako, but it was very well-received by our friends after we made it more than a year ago, so I decided to share it with you all. Although I'd never made an AMV before or used Adobe Premiere before, this is not my first dabble in video-making. Still, there are some issues in this video that still bug me but overall I'm okay with how this turned out. There are some editing issues in this, and I'll eventually clean it up once I get a solid grasp of what I should concentrate on. I really appreciate everyone's honest input in that regard, it has been very helpful.
  
  Just for everyone's reference, as it's not clear (apparently), the live action footage and the anime footage are both of the same character: Hans Axel von Fersen, who is a Swedish count and also Marie Antoinette's (alleged) lover. He's very foppish and fabulous, and we adore him, so we made this video to FERSEN, aka, DA SVEEDE!@! And he is quite silly, and we love him still!
  
  If you pay attention to the sung lyrics, you'll notice that the subtitles are different in some key places. This may add to your enjoyment of this AMV, but your mileage may vary ;)
  
  The live action movie (Lady Oscar) REALLY IS a live action version of the anime Berusaiyu no Bara, although the plot varies a great deal -- but the live action lines are funny if you've seen the anime, like "Oscar is a lady??" His accent his hilarious :P (The Lady Oscar movie is horrible, by the way, but I am the proud owner of the DVD. )
  
  If there's one word to describe this video, it's probably "absurd," but in a good way ;)
  So take a chance!, enjoy, don't take this too seriously (the lip-synch is intentionally sketchy in many parts of this video to add to the silly), and just dance to the funky music and da funky Sveede!! And by all means, watch Rose of Versailles!!!

  A few words about sound and video quality, especially of the live action sequences:
  The clips were directly ripped from the Lady Oscar DVD that I own. The original video was made on very sub-standard film, so even the DVD looks grainy and washed out. Also, the sound is spotty at best on the original.
  
  I CANNOT RIP THE LIVE ACTION MOVIE ANY HIGHER QUALITY, AS THE ORIGINAL WAS SHOT ON OLD, BAD FILM AND THE ORIGINAL FILM ITSELF IS GRAINY AND WASHED-OUT. THAT'S AS GOOD AS IT GETS SO PLEASE STOP COMMENTING THAT I CAN RIP IT CLEANER. I CAN'T. -- only saying this because people keep mentioning it. i have the dvd and ripped it without any compression.
  
  I've done my best to clean the video and sound up, but there's only so much you can do without making things sound and look very distorted.
