  When I was working on my last Card Captor Sakura music video I got inspired to do a music video about Mei Ling. I originally had the idea of finding the perfect song to capture Mei Ling's personality. I quickly found out that was impossible. She is way too complicated of a character to be represented by just one song. So then I thought, what about two songs? That I could do.
  
  So for my first song I wanted to show the gentler side of Mei Ling. I wanted to show her innocence and her kindness. I was strongly inspired by episode 43 when we learn a lot more about Mei Ling and her past. Instead of being just a foil for Sakura, Mei Ling has her own good reasons for caring about Li. Mei Ling had seen the tender caring side of Li years ago when they were both younger children. While her possessiveness of Li is played out for great comical effect there is more to Mei Ling that just comic relief. This kind of characterization is what separates anime from less sophisticated entertainment.
  
  I hope that this music video helps people see Mei Ling in a slightly different light.
