• Comments: This was one of those ideas long in the making that finally came together in early 2004. I first heard Fountains of Wayne in a tv commercial in Norway, and picked this album up on a whim, only to find that it was a great cd that started off with a really cool song, Mexican Wine. While the lyrics in the song are really odd and mismatched, the progression of the music is very solid and makes the lyrics feel stronger than they really are.
  
  With that in mind, I did something I don't usually do, which is fit scenes together for the sole purpose of matching the lyrics. lol. Since some of the lyrics were just coming out of nowhere, I wanted the video to do the same. I think I accomplished getting the overall feel of the video to match the overall feel of the song. There isn't supposed to be any coherent story here, and you are supposed to chuckle from time to time, but it's not quite a comedy video either.
  
  As a huge Noir fan, I chose the series for one specific reason. Can't tell you in details or it would ruin the moment in the video. lol. Let's just say I planned to use Kirika's ID card that she has throughout the show. I also knew there were plenty of scenes involving glasses of wine and various liquor bottles that I could pretend were wine. ^_^ when putting it together, I actually started to run short of the amount of wine shots I thought the series had.
  
  While this doesn't contain any real spoilers for the show, it will be best appreciated by those who have seen it, as a lighter look at the characters in Noir. I focused on the odd relationship between Kirika and Mireille and avoided the focal points of the series itself, mainly the killing. I felt this relationship and how it grows was the backdrop for all the action in the series, so not everyone watching it would be able to see it beyond all the guns and such. To me, it was the most endearing part of the series, seeing how these two girls interacted.
  
  I hope fans of Noir will enjoy this video and enjoy the parts I changed even more. ^_^ If you haven't seen Noir, I hope you'll find it fun to watch anyway. I worked hard to make the ideas I saw in my head really come together here, so please let me know if you enjoyed it or have any comments. ^_^
