  • Comments: Yes, I am adding another video to the large "Bring Me to Life" collection. I don't know why. But I am.

I guess the idea started way back before Daredevil came into theatres. I'd seen this AMV that was set to Evanescence's "Imaginary", and I liked the song. A little while later I was searching for a darker song to go with the Final Fantasy movie, and Imaginary popped back into my head. I went looking for other songs by this Evanescence band, and found "Bring Me to Life". At first I didn't like the male vocals--they didn't seem to work for the FF Movie--but the song grew on me and I ended up liking it. I decided it would work better for the Ah! My Goddess movie. I wasn't sure I wanted to do yet another AMG video, so the idea sat around for a while. I'd started planning out a video to it, and I wanted to do it more and more. Then Daredevil came out along with the Daredevil soundtrack, and there's a whole horde of "Bring Me to Life" videos. I started realizing how unoriginal my idea was becoming, and the idea sat around longer. Then I started listening to the song and thinking of the video again, and I decided I'd start it and see how it turned out. I wasn't sure if I was going to release it.

So I started working on it sometime around May 2003, and worked on it in bits. As I worked on it more and more, I started liking it better. I actually ended spending way more time on it than I thought I would. When it was near completion, I decided I wanted to release it, because there are lots of people who like the song, and some people might like watching the video despite hearing the song over and over and over. I released this video for those people. ^_~

The video is based around Belldandy and what she goes through once Celestine shows up. Predictably, Belldandy is timed to the female vocals while Celestine is the male singer. One of the reasons why I picked AMG for this song was because Belldandy was such an emotional character, and the song does have quite a bit of emotion in it (I think emotionless videos just don't do the song justice). Keichii plays an underlying part in the storyline; he's basically the one Belldandy is asking for help from when she says "save me". I tried to avoid using too many scenes from the movie I'd already used in my previous videos, which wasn't too hard since my other ones hardly used Celestine at all.

If you're not sure if you'll waste your time downloading this video, I'll let you know this much: I did spend several hours on this video. I did put a lot of thought and effort into it. It does have good video and audio quality. It is timed to the beats, and the accents are accented. It does have a storyline and matches the lyrics. I do have experience in editing videos, so I have learned some of the things that make for a good video and I applied what I learned to this video.

So if you're not sick to death of this song yet, you can simply just watch it and maybe enjoy it. Comments appreciated! :)

    --UPDATE--

Well, this vid is one of the many Evanescence vids that had to be taken off the site (see the thread here). I won't be hosting a download link anywhere, but if you want to watch a bad-quality streaming version of this video, you can watch it here.

    Enjoy. ^_~
