• Comments: It’s time to see if watching hundreds of videos has taught me anything on how to make them. This is my first video which I made using every Squaresoft game I had access to. I got my inspiration to do this video from watching the video ‘Final Fantasy Tribute’ done to Offspring – Staring at the Sun, although that was about two years ago. Needless to say, I’ve had this idea in my mind for a long time, but lack of resources and experience prevented me from making it happen. I eventually did get a hold of the things I needed and under the motivation of boredom, I decided to see if I could create my own video.
  
  In making this video, I focused a lot on lyrics matching and timing. Since I had several games to choose from, I was usually able to get a good match (My favorite parts are when the lyrics are “And the voices told me to blow you away” and "You can't kill a man when he's got no hope"), although there were some lyrics that I couldn’t figure out what to use, so I just went with something random("If you hadn't sold me I'd still be away"). As for timing, I edited each clip to the exact frame to match the music. As a result, most of them went through some speed manipulation to shorten some longer clips to fit in the time space that I set for it. I also had some difficulty editing in the instramental areas with no lyrics, especially in the beginning, but in the end, I think it turned out pretty decent.
  
  I’m not sure how long it took to make this video since I put the project on hold for a few weeks while waiting for my computer to be upgraded. A lot of my time was spent trying to figure out how to use the editing programs. Since this is my first video and I just dove in without knowing much, it took me a while to understand it. I eventually figured out a few things, but still don’t know much about effects. I also spent a lot of time gathering footage for the video. Since I used some actual in game scenes, it often took several minutes to set up a shot that only lasted a few seconds. I also had a GameSpot DVD that I got from E3 that had footage of Final Fantasy X-2, so I had to download more programs and learn how to rip DVD footage. This really could have been a simple project, but I ran into several problems that made this more complicated than it should have been. Either way, it was a good learning experience.
