• Comments: Most of my videos start from a small kernel of an idea. For this one, whenever I heard the lyrics "you point the finger at me" in Linkin Park's Runaway, I would always picture the scene of Asuka angrily pointing at Shinji. So that small idea is what got my brain started on this whole thing. But the idea fell apart somewhat because there is also a lyric saying "they point the finger at me". Well, who can I use for "they"? So, for a long time now, I had been wanting to experiment more with using image and video generation within an AMV, because I think generative AI really opens up a lot of creative possibilities that we haven't seen before. So I thought it would be interesting to generate scenes of Rei and Misato also angrily pointing their fingers at Shinji. And why stop there? I thought I would try even more things in the video using AI. Some of the other lyrics in the song seem to be talking about drug use, and I noticed that there are a lot of scenes in Evangelion where Shinji is just staring off into space, like he's high or something. So I decided to make the video about depicting a drug-fueled decent into Shinji's mind, and I wanted to use AI to generate some scenes from the anime in a realistic style.
  
  Some of the scenes really surprised me by how cool they turned out. Even with just a few seconds of generative AI used in the video, it took the largest portion of the work. While some of the clips didn't turn out exactly as I had hoped, I actually think it still works well in the context of wanting things to be somewhat psychedelic and unhinged.
