  • Comments: I finished watching Teekyuu last week and it was genuinely really funny and absurd. I really had a lot of fun with it. Almost immediately after I finished the anime, I got this idea due to just suddenly remembering this song exists. I very vaguely remember a Shadow AMV using exclusively Sonic 06 footage back over a decade ago using this song but I could not for the life of me find it again. I definitely remember it existed though. This AMV probably would not exist whatsoever if I didn't just suddenly remember that ancient video. So this is dedicated to it in a sense, as this AMV would simply not exist if I just didn't remember that really old Shadow AMV I saw back in the day.

    If you haven't seen Teekyuu, I definitely recommend it. Each episode's about 2 minutes long and you can easily get through it all in an afternoon. It's just a really silly, absurd anime and I think if really surreal fast paced humor is your thing, you're bound to like it. The name of this AMV is a bit of a joke as the main premise of the series is that the girls are all part of a tennis club, yet they only play tennis for what feels like 5 minutes of the 3 1/2 to 4 hour runtime. At best. The show even makes light of this as a joke multiple times. So I felt it'd be funny to have the AMV represent that joke.

    Not a whole lot to say on details regarding the actual video creation; as this anime is animated in a very specific way, there was only so much I could do. It made lip syncing pretty easy except during the "screw you" at the end due to Marimo walking away from the screen. Since the characters have literal motor mouths, I had to mask and time the lips best I could. I also wanted this video to start off as normal as this show could kinda get and then get more mental and weird the farther I went along with it.

    Overall, I hope you enjoy! I had a lot of fun making this for sure.
