• Comments: I completed this AMV back in September and am only just uploading it now as I entered it into the AWA accolades competition - mainly so I was able to see everyone else's videos that got entered :D
  This video I partly made simply for fun and partly as an editing exercise. I came across the anime via other AMVs a few months ago and it looked completely wild so I acquired it just because. Not long after that I heard this cover of Taylor Swifts ...Ready For It? which I really enjoyed and thought would be fun to edit with, so I thought why not just use the new anime I'd gotten and see how it goes. I kinda also wanted to spread this around cause everyone else needs to know this anime exists.
  Additionally I'd started becoming very annoyed by the way I felt compelled to always edit by cutting on the beat of the song. Most recently this was particularly aggravating while I was editing Electro World - I hated how constrained this compulsion was making me feel, but I couldn't snap my brain out of it. So this song gave me an opportunity to try and switch things up, it was an additional challenge as the music is particularly beat heavy, and I did my best to ignore all of it while editing this. If you notice the pacing of this video is slightly weird, this is most likely why. I'm not sure how obvious this editing choice will be to people watching, or how different it actually is compared to how I usually edit, but it gave me a break at least, and I now I don't feel beholden to the "almighty beat sync" all the time anymore.
