  The idea of this video came when I was thinking about how a number of popular anime titles have these "epic" videos that are set to Bohemian Rhapsody, which led to me thinking "What if there was a Pop Team Epic version of this type of video?" For one thing, I felt that the version that would be used wouldn't be the original version by Queen, but rather the polka cover "Weird Al" Yankovic did after the death of Freddie Mercury and the film Wayne's World resulted in a new generation being introduced to the song. The idea of making it for Otakon 2023, meanwhile, stemmed from IDGAP winning Best in Show the previous year. This was the second time during the years that I attended Otakon that Best in Show went to a "Weird Al Poka AMV" that I really didn't felt was that great. To me, it felt like the main reason these videos won Best In Show is because they used a singer that many people like ("Weird Al" Yankovic), a type of song of his that tends to be popular (his polka medleys), and the videos use various anime that average anime fans like. As such, my response to this is to make a similar video, only with me using the one polka medley that only uses one song and setting it to the anime equivalent of a shitpost.
  
  Editing began in December 2022 after Season 2 aired, with it taking over a half-year to finish. What took so long include me having a hard time trying to find clips to match some lyrics or sound effects (with the latter being inspired by drewaconclusion's "Drowning in the Kiddie Pool"), me making preparations for my fall projects and whatever MEP AMV Hell-type project is happening in 2024, and me getting distracted by video games (Honkai Star Rail, anyone?). Luckily, I managed to get the main video done in time for Otakon and Tekko 2023, while saving the work on creating subtitles for the online version's wraparound segments for the time between the deadline and actual contest.
