  This video was originally conceived many years ago(probably 10?). As with my previous video "Ebb and Flow", I had a handful of AMVs that were roughly assembled or halfway complete sitting on an old editing rig. This concept was one of them.
  
  During this time in quarantine I began digging through some old hard drives. I saw a couple folders worth of project files and I got all nostalgic. I reloaded the footage and sequences into Premiere and was curious how much was left to finish. After a few error fixes and clip replacement workarounds I was ready to roll. To my surprise, two of the three videos were probably 40 or 50% done and the third was basically just a song with some random clips scattered about the sequence.
  
  This video was the most complete of the three and so I finished it first.
  
  Radiohead have always been so great at painting a picture in my mind so originally I wanted to make an AMV to one of their full albums, possibly "The Bends" or "Hail To The Thief". That ended up being a bit too ambitious so I narrowed it down a few Thom Yorke songs that really resonated with the way I was feeling.
  
  This first one, "Harrowdown Hill", off of Thom Yorke's solo album The Eraser struck me as this subtly rebellious song. It is the pulling back of the curtain to realize something is wrong.
  
  I chose the anime Macross Plus for a few reasons. First, it has some great visuals and trippy moments with Sharon Apple that I felt were representative of the wool being pulled over our eyes with the visual spectacle. I also love how the characters don't really know what the problem is or how they haven't dealt with their emotions/trauma. They have generally disconnected.
  
  So the concept for the AMV is rather simple, each video takes on a couple of emotions and feelings that we are faced with on a daily basis. We all have uncertainty, doubt, and fear. Whether those feelings come from internal or external forces doesn't matter all that much. This first video aims to focus on realizing there is a problem and how we handle it.
  
  For me personally, I edited the video with societal issues in mind and the pressure they put upon us, but that is just me. I hope you get something from this AMV and enjoy it.
