Where do I even start with the monstrosity that is this video?
During my teen years, I, as someone who is already into "Weird Al" Yankovic and comical Christmas songs on the radio, was interested in novelty music, and as such, I picked up a number of compilation albums featuring music that was featured on the number one source of novelty songs at the time, The Doctor Demento Show. One of the more popular songs included in the compilations (in terms of Dr. Demento fans) was Dead Puppies, a song about a guy mourning the death of his dog and how it's not really that fun when in that state.
Flash forward two decades later and the various Parts of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure finally getting full anime adaptations (rather than just an OAV series that covers certain moments from Part 3). As I began to get into that franchise through Stardust Crusaders (which I was familiar with thanks to the Capcom fighting game and said OAV), I learned about the amount of dog abuse that takes place, in particular the number of canine casualties done in order to show how evil some of the villains could be. Because of that, I felt that this series and Dead Puppies would be a perfect match.
As for why the heck I even went ahead and did something as disturbing as this for an AMV, this goes all the way to when I learned about AWA 2019 happening on Halloween weekend, with me wanting to do something horror-related for Pro. Eventually, I assumed that, compared to some of the sources that I've used with some of my videos, a number of people entering Pro would be very familiar with JoJo (especially with the show airing on Adult Swim) and, given how I didn't think I would get my other idea of a Halloween video to work (don't worry, it wouldn't be a gorefest like this one), I decided to go the twisted route and commit to this video.
I do apologize for offending people with my video (in fact, I did apologize on AWA's Discord channel before the Pro videos were released as I figured that it would gross out some of the other competitors).
