This is the AMV I've always wanted to make. A really dark, gruesome Berserk AMV with Film-quality animation. Ok, ok... I guess the animation isn't all that great in these movies, but it's the best we can hope for these days right? It was a challenge to cut out most of the crappy CG. Unfortunately, that meant the 100-man slayer scene had to be trimmed quite a bit. I don't understand why they couldn't at least animate his face with traditional animation. Instead they've got Guts prancing around like a damn ballerina in an attempt to give him a more elegant look that hides his face. Stupid.
I'm really picky with the music I choose to use in my AMVs. "Brave New Hell's" lyrics match pretty well to the series. I recommend watching this a few times and making the connections. Another interesting thing I did in this video is that I removed all of the Purples and Pinks throughout the Eclipse scenes. I was able to make color grading decisions in DaVinci Resolve 12 in order to give it a much darker look. Some cuts wouldn't have matched otherwise.
I'm pretty busy and not the most active member on this site anymore, but I always have a blast making these. New anime today just doesn't appeal to me as much anymore. Oh well. Classics never die. I'm not saying this is a retirement amv or anything, but it could be a while before my next one. I enjoy the thrill of entering amv contests, but most of the content I choose to create isn't always appropriate for the typical crowds at conventions. So I hope you guys give me plenty of feedback.
