To our nations, we have been cruel masters. Hetalia is a show that personifies countries, and is extremely light-hearted and oh-so-wrong. But, it's educational, and at times hints at a more somber side. This is what I aimed to bring out and amplify in this AMV. If our nations could speak to us, wouldn't they beg for us to be more merciful? Wouldn't they aspire to become more than war zombies?
I kept the editing simple, though as always there are "invisible edits" such as clip time changes, deletions/additions of frames, and reversals. But the style betrays little of the work that went into it, and that's how I wanted it to be. Most of the challenge was in finding suitable scenes for such a serious concept, a tough undertaking with such silly source material.
I hope this was enough. Let's spare a thought for our nations, and the people living within them. We all deserve a chance for peace.
