This video was the final product of 6 months worth of editing an idea I first got a year ago. I had wanted to create a manga music video that was different from what I've seen in the past. The main characters of "Fatlip" and "Sammy the Salmon" are actually stick puppets set against a bluescreen. Most of the animation was done after filming the characters. I also had to run them through a few filters to match the color to the backgtounds due to the type of lighting I had used (they came out yellow originally) I also had to do a lot of cleanup work for the backgrounds by vectorizing them in Illustrator and then running them through a half-tone filter to give them a comic book looking texture.
This video was the winner for Best in Show at Anime Weekend Atlanta 2013 and was nominated for 6 other awards.
