This idea was been circling around in my head for over a year, since I originally thought of it while watching the series when it aired.

This is the first full-length video I've edited and released since early 2009. It also spurred me to finally learn how to do karaoke effects (albeit basic ones) in Aegisub.

The video is a tad meta, just like the series itself was. A few of the shots were chosen as nods to the first seriously-edited video I'd done: The Nights Will See Them Through. In that way, this video sort of acts like a bookend to that 10 years, with all of the requisite comparisons that connection might draw.

Specifically, the opening and closing scenes were references to the opening and closing clips in Nights, and 3:31 mirrors a similarly ridiculous scene (at 3:58, so still approximately at 80% through the video). Ano Natsu itself was aired 10 years after Onegai Teacher, with some of the same core staff, and contains little in-references to it. This video was released on the 10th anniversary of the Org's catalog entry date for Nights, which used Onegai Teacher and a different Peter Murphy song as sources.

I was also pretty tempted to encode it in H.265/HEVC, but the stars didn't quite align correctly for that to be possible. So instead, it's in 10-bit 4:4:4 and Opus. :P

Due to the use of Opus, make sure you're using a recent (preferably the latest) build of LAV Filters - this includes LAV-based CCCP releases, but any build from after mid-2012 should work I guess. Also, any recent build of mpv (after this commit on July 16th) will work too, so long as libopus was included in the build of libavcodec that mpv links against.
