The original version of Evangelion Final Countdown was made by Mirth Anime Studio/Rogue Studio/Dimension Video (known here as rogueWRX) back around 1998. It was also the very first AMV I've ever seen. sporting great action syncs at that time, but the visual quality was only VHS-grade with 15fps. As a matter of fact, I discovered the original version in MPEG-1 format with 30fps, having been re-encoded from its original 15fps Indeo 5 format completely unbeknownst to me - which resulted on several action syncs flowing differently. I didn't discover the original 15fps Indeo 5 version until after I did my first remastering.

Later, somewhere between 2003-2005, the AMV was remastered by rei.andrea from this community using higher quality DVD footage, and despite what the maker said, the footage used for that remaster weren't 100% from the Renewal DVDs. It was also not the most faithful recreation of the original, with missing action syncs on various parts (possibly due to framerate conversion between the two versions) and sometimes unnecessary additions of visual FX.

    MY REMASTERED VERSION:
At 2009, I did my own remaster of the AMV using entirely Renewal footage. Unfortunately, that version was still not perfect because the only source footage I had were all hard-subbed (had to crop it into widescreen to give some Evangelion:Death flair to it) and some parts had video glitches because of the source footage being stored inside scratched discs. I used to post it on YouTube, but it was taken down at early 2016.

This new remaster is more faithful to the original version in terms of how the syncs flow, taking framerate differences into account, although it also incorporates some aspects from rei.andrea's remaster and my 2009 remaster. Also, not only this new remaster is now in 720p, I also integrated scenes from the NTE (Rebuild) films on a few parts, which also explains why this remaster is still in widescreen. Please note that the local download link leads to the older version of this 720p remaster, which uses upscaled, slightly cleaner Renewal footage. There is now a Blu-ray remaster in the indirect link.

Credits must go to rogueWRX who made the original AMV.
