OPINIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!
Filesize is big, but don't be hesitant :)
WHO IS BONNIE PINK?:
Bonnie Pink has not gained the proper respect she should have in the States. You cannot place Bonnie in a single musical genre because her music is so different that it's nearly impossible. By listening to one of her songs, you will probably notice that her stuff really isn't that different and probably place her in the JPOP or Alternative or Modern Jazz genres. However, after listening to many of her pieces, her music form stays the same, however, it becomes harder and harder to place her in a proper genre. Even though her music is "different", it's extremely enjoyable and fun to listen to.
I ultimately wanted to start people off with a good Bonnie Pink song OTHER THAN "It's Gonna Rain" because she's famous in the States only in the sense that she did an end song for Rurouni Kenshin.
WHY LOVE HINA?:
Thinking of You was a good piece to use and I struggled between the relationship between Dita and Hibiki from Vandread or Keitaro and Naru from Love Hina. I eventually picked Love Hina even though I really don't know the series that well and I haven't even collected all of it yet; it just fits better.
INFO AND TIDBITS
I stumbled upon the layout of the video upon its production. I never intended to tell a story, but it just sorta happened. It was fun making it a music video within a music video though. Albeit it was very tough at times. During the guitar solo, it was VERY difficult since kaolla doesn't strum her guitar as fast as in the song. I couldn't loop any footage since there is no good closeup of her strumming it (yes I know there is one, and I used it, but it wasn't what I was looking for). So I tried my best there. Really, that's the best I could do with the limited amount of footage there is for her in her adult form.
I kinda tried lip synching with moving pictures. I did my best, but it's not going to be 100% perfect because I used footage that was in motion. I've seen lip synching done with still images, but never in motion, so it was kinda hard.
There will be some clips that seem sort of blurry. I had to reduce the flicker on parts that I had to slow down. The blurriness is a result of it, but it's definitely not as ugly as the annoying horizontal flickering lines.
The digital effects I used weren't exactly what I was looking for in an effect, but it was better than anything else that I could scrounge up. In any case, I barely used any at all.
I know I was supposed to premiere this on June 30, but finding acceptable footage was exceptionally hard. Trying to find footage of Naru NOT being so evil and cruel to Keitaro was difficult at times and I felt like pulling my hair out on many occasions. Naru is my least favorite female character and I really like Su and Mutsumi, so I tried to get them in a little more than the others. It was mainly a romance song, so I had to center around Naru and Keitaro, but I wanted su and mutsumi in there too.
So all in all, I did finish the video by June 30, but I had to patch up some things that I didn't like at all. Lots of footage was changed or moved around, while I also tried to fix that damned flickering problem.
I know I usually put a snapshot of some scene of the anime at the end with details, but I really admire bonnie pink, so I used her picture. I had to photoshop it to get rid of some text below her name. The writing is pink because that's a part of the picture. Not my doing. And the title screen is Bonnie Pink in her music video for Thinking of You.
That's all! Please enjoy the video that I made! And as always, opinions are greatly appreciated.
