CN Anime 2k3 AMV Competition - Best of Show
This is my third AMV. When I first heard "My Immortal", I knew right away that it would be perfect to go with Hoshi no Koe. As soon as the DVD came out, I was all over it, and working on the AMV within 3 days of the release. ^_^
I ran into some problems with this... while I had it pretty planned out, I discovered that there just wasn't enough Noboru footage to do what I wanted. I'm still pretty happy with the way this has turned out though.
I attempted to tell the story of Noboru and Mikako, and the VERY LONG DISTANCE relationship they tried to keep alive, while showing the pain and loneliness that they both felt. As I said, it's not exactly what I was aiming for, but I'm very happy with the way it is.
Overlays to no end in this, but whatever. The transitions in the last 75 seconds of the video are astounding, in my opinion, and the transitions in the first part of the video cannot compare to the transitions at the end. I don't know how they're different, otherwise I'd make them ALL that good. There's also a film grain overlay, which was done by making a long clip of just film noise (Premiere Quicktime Effect) on a grey matte. I then overlaid that with chroma transparency, which is how I made that effect. I would have just used the Quicktime Effect, but it tended to crash Premiere, because Quicktime is a buggy ... yeah.... and so's Premiere, but whaddya gonna do, eh?
EDIT: So, I entered this in CN Anime2k3 competition, and got BEST OF SHOW. :D
