  How it came to be?
  When the DVD for this anime was released, I knew I had to make at least one full AMV with it.
  I remember clearly when I watched Toy Story 2 again after getting the DVD. I remember as soon as I watched the scene with Jessy (the cowgirl) and her owner, this music played, and almost immediately 5 cm. per second came to mind. I brainstormed in my head for months. I knew I wanted to focus on the story of Takaki and Akari. Despite the fact that the song was sung by a girl, I knew I had to make the AMV from Takaki's POV. This was all I had figured out in '07. The idea never left my mind, but I never got around to making it either. (Of course, until now.)
  The main reason was because of the increasing amount of Byousoku AMVs. After finally getting over it, I decided to make the amv I've had in my mind since 2+ years ago.
  
  Editing:
  I had to arrange the story of 5cm. per second to fit the lyrics. Not many adjustments to the real story, actually. So don't be expecting a story completely different from the anime at all. XD
  
  My main goal was to try to get the story across as effectively as possible.
  
  Picking the right clips was painstakingly hard. Okay, not painstakingly, but I did often question whether the viewer, when watching, would be able to see the story through the clips I chose. I love making AMVs with stories. I've been practicing for as long as I can remember, but this was the first time I put what I learned together to make a full AMV. (Note: Still learning. Obviously.)
  Other than clip choice, the effects are rather simple. A tad of desaturated clips, some crossfades, fades, hard cuts, and that's about it.
  
  Like I said, my main goal was the story. That's what I was really focusing on. In my opinion, I did not complete what was in my mind, and therefore don't think it is as good as it could have been. I'm happy though that I could get some portion of what I wanted out though, to ease my mind. I will continue practicing in hopes of making a story I am satisfied with.
  
  And finally...
  
  Story:
  Takaki is remembering all the times he had spent with Akari.
  When Akari moved away, the two began writing to each other, occasionally calling as well. Despite the fact the two didn't want to be apart, it was meant to be.
  Years pass, and Takaki moves to another town, even farther away than before. Akari, overwhelmed by sadness, stops writing him. Still, Takaki kept waiting for her to write him back.
  Then Takaki, by pure coincidence (oh great, illiteracy), meets Akari at a train station. The two spend time together, but must part once again. Even so, Takaki's love for her never changed.
  
  (Told you I just tweaked it. But now that I read it again, it sounds like I didn't even change the story. Just the date of which clips happened... ha.)
  
  
  Lyrics:

  Also, this is my first time ever (with some practice) encoding something. I've done a lot of trial and errors, and I just hope that there are no major problems with others opening the file. That was the hardest part of the whole process.
  I don't think I did half bad, but there's a bit of blocking in the fades and such. That's what annoyed me most. Not that bad, but still, I need to learn a bit more for amazing-awesome-quality videos. This is just another "Put what I've learned to the test" kind of thing. X_X
